Are there any games where humans are just a side race, with the main player/majority of people are a different, alien race?
The "humans breed like rabbits and do everything" meme has gotten a bit stale, I'd love to see us as a niche species who perhaps specialise in smuggling, or are dedicated mercenaries.

... Sonic the Hedgehog

Bit of a cop out, since androids aren't a race and are made to look human
>Smoker
Dropped
Corruption of Champions
>>389475952
does games with the "humanity wiped/nearly wiped itself out and a new race took over" count?

I think it's supposed to be a thousands of years old specimen who's seen most things in the universe and struggles to find anything fun anymore, constantly seeking new experiences
Kind of a given that they'd pick up a few addictions along the way.

Eh. Next.

Literally Mass Effect
>>389475952
>human feet
>>389476883
Sure. I had more of an interplanetary rpg in mind (imagine ME but with humans as one of the more scluded species), but it still sounds better than the majority.
>>389476748
...I might give that another go
>>389476938
>main character and saviour is human
So literally not mass effect, then. A human experiencing a new world has been done to death.
>>389477064
>takes issue with human feet
>Is fine with human hands
Human feet are literally malformed hands. Makes sense to have nails too, since claws would be a pain in the ass to walk on.
>>389477334
>majority of people are a different, alien race
literally
mass effect
You're moving goalposts now
>>389477553
>with the main player/majority of people are a different, alien race?
It's right there in the OP.
>>389475952
You fucking furry there are tons of old games made where nothing is human
>Crash
>that one game where you are a literal grasshopper
>Ifluid
>the talos principle
>that samurai cat wannabe sidescroller
>Morrowind
AND MORE
But no you had to be a stupid furry/otherkin shitface and ask questions about "muh fur" here on /v/ instead of using a search engine
>>389477848
>majority of people are a different, alien race?
mass effect
>>389477553
>main player
Having some difficulty reading, it seems. Hard to score a goal when you can't see the posts.
>>389477868
>You fucking furry
Couldn't be further from the truth.
I'm specifically interested in games that make humans a more specialised race, rather than a physically weak, clueless hive of ants. Other "new" species are often sparse and rare, and have a unique reputation among others. Humans are always the same old "not strong, a bit clever, can talk shit".
Playing the game from another perspective and having humans be a more specialised species within the context of the game sounds like a lot more fun to me.

Well, this is pretty much spoiling the main point of the plot but:solatorobo. turns out humanity nearly wiped itself out in a war over alien tech and with time a new race took over.

>elder scrolls
>no humans humans
Nords, imperials, bretons and redguards are just humans with fancy names/different nationalities. Thats 40% of the playable races.
Plus we never got a game set in one of the lands that are mainly inhabited by non-humans.
>that samurai cat wannabe sidescroller
Which one? i'm kinda curious now.
>>389478592
That sounds pretty interesting, thanks anon! I'll give emulating that a go.
>>389478450
>majority of people
How can you just glaze over and become braindead at a quotation of your own dang post?
>>389478741
>That sounds pretty interesting, thanks anon! I'll give emulating that a go.
Be sure to pick the north american version then, the game had a set of free downloadable side quests, but since the old nintendo wi-fi system is dead, they are impossible to get (except in the NA release, since they are already included in it).

Main character was the first criterion.
Majority of people is the second.
What's gotten you so angry? I'm looking for games that fulfil both. I'm sorry, but ME isn't what I'm looking for
>>389480110
separating something with a slash means AND/OR you dumb sperg, if you wanted BOTH then LIST THEM BOTH.
>>389480474
Alright.
*deep breath*
I'd like them both.
>>389480474
Bit ironic for you to call someone a sperg whilst having a legit autistic moment. Autists can't handle slight improper usages of things, and waste forever whining to folks about how they should be. We got the message that he'd like both a few posts back - move on.
>>389475952
I'm tempted to say warcraft, but humans play a pretty big part in that. Then again, I think Rexxar is the main character in one of them and you get to see the story from the orcish side. Pretty cool. (I'd search to confirm but I'm out n about)
>>389475952
I guess Starbound would fit that. Earth literally gets BTFO and humans are on the edge of extinction and become a nomadic race. You only have to interact with one or two humans in the entire game. The one being the main quest giver, and the other being some Edgy McEdgerson OC-do-not-steal boss that doesn't actually "lose" the fight.
>>389475952
Technically, Guild Wars 2.
Sylvari and Asura are the biggest population.
>>389482508
Hadn't thought of that one, it was on the tip of my tongue. Earth is still kinda the "main" planet, but humans aren't treated like the main species at all.
>>389475952
Watchdogs 2.
Humans are the only race that we as humans ourselves with no contact to any other sapient life have reference for, so of course humanity is always going to be the familiar neutral base we judge everything else by their differences to in most settings. We don't really have perspective for anything else you dumb fucking furfag.
