Splatoon 2 is more balanced besides like 2 weapons but they won't ruin the entire game. The stats you get from gear are more balanced. Salmon run is a great addition. Ranked makes a lot more sence (different ranking for each game type and not as strict on demotions), single player is great again. No hackers and prob won't ever be for a while.

Few bad sides are the voicechat is fucking stupid to setup the official way and the games netcode is slightly worse (16-20 tick rate compared to 1s 24)

I loved splatoon 1 but its online is laggy (because there's only japanese people left to match you to) and infested with "hilarious" hackers who will ink the whole map in a second and then spawncamp you for the rest of the match. Splatoon 1 has become basically unplayable online. The difference between the two is comparable between mario kart 7 and mario kart 8, if you want to experience more of the core gameplay but with different stages and special moves then splatoon 2 is great. If you feel you've played enough splatoon for one lifetime then don't buy it since it's still the same core game.
