I'm curious if anyone on remembers the first thing they ever pirated, and why - or what drove them to do it.
>super young
>dad introduced me to cd burning software
>had the entire blockbuster PC game selection pirated in about 3-weeks
>must have looked suspicious hiring a couple PC games a day
So /v/ what was the first thing you pirated?
I stole shitty alternative rock using Bearshare.
Like anyone my age at the time.
SNES emulator and roms. There was something magical about it back then. So much awe and wonder to have access to all these games back in the year 2000.

The first grand turismo in late 1998. On playstation, you could buy playstation games from sellers on the streets and it was the first game I bought after getting the mod.
Thing was a really high quality pirated game though, never seen such a thing again. Not only they had printed both the front and the back cover (albeit low quality) even the cd had the art printed on it, the colors were wrong (like in negative) but the art was there.
To this day and countless pirated game bought afterwards I still never seen anything else like that.
Rome Total War.
Family just bought a new PC, wanted to play something that was not RA2.
