My quality of life now is immeasurably better than when I was neet though, my depression is fading and I feel like I actually have a future. On top of that, I'm no longer burnt out on videogames and actually enjoy them again, I'm excited to get home and play a new one. I do have some balancing to do, and my shifts will change to normal 8-4:30 soon, but I'm very happy with things as they are now.

Jobs are more than just the hours you spend at them. Most jobs today require you to socialize outside of them, network with others in service of the job, take courses or read up on things for the job outside your hours, etc. You will find yourself in more situations that require you to be somewhat sociable, well dressed and such. Also, once you're working, it becomes increasingly harder to continue being a lazy shit when you're away from the job, the pressure is on and you start to realize all of the things that are missing from your own life (a weekly exercise routine and a healthier body, a girlfriend / wife, a new car, your own apartment, etc.). Lastly, everyone has a family and you will quickly realize how much better other people are taking care of theirs than you are of yours. All of these things require that you spend more time actually taking care of yourself than playing video games and jerking off.

I work this schedule and my day off rotates between Monday/Wednesday/Friday, and any Friday I have off I also have the next Monday off too, effectively giving me a 4 day weekend. Plus I actually enjoy my career, which may very well be your issue.

Two decent ways to go about life

1.) get a decent job with no free time like OP, save toward an early retirement (preferably become masc4masc gay so you can pool money with another well paid hard-working man, not have children to pay for and raise, and retire in your 40's and spend the rest of your life doing whatever overflowing with money

2.) get a job you actually love to do, one that is a passion and is also flexible so you can still do the things you love and afford to have a wife and children while working your entire life.
