I don't get it, you paid for the game, how is denuvo affecting you?
>>
>>389371495
nmicro stutters
>>
>>389371495
Yeah that's exactly it, you only get denuvo if you paid for the game.
>>
The issue is that they never said it was going to have denuvo and anyone who preordered couldn't return it because 14 days had already passed when the game finally came out.
>>
>>389371495
It makes it so I can't play Sonic Mania in my third-world mud hut.
>>
>>389371495
>2 week delay for the game
>Didn't reveal it until a few users after launch found out about it
>"Forgot" to mention it
>Refunds are a pain in the ass because the Sonic 1 gift is triggering the 2 week refund clause
Take your pick.
>>
>>389371558
Pretty sure that's a Windows issue mang.

>>
It makes it so I have to be online to play the game, and that's terrible.

Don't bring up how I spend every hour of every day on /v/ and so I constantly have an internet connection, either. You fucking Denuvo apologist.
>>
>>389372126
Crash 3 fucking sucks balls though
>>
lmao http://igg-games com/sonic-mania-free-download.html

You have to be okay with botnet tho lul
>>
>>389371495
what's wrong with that?
they're free to attach whatever shitty DRM and I'm free to buy the game, leave a negative review and refund
>>
>>389371982
Pretty sure you're deflecting blame without any clue, champ.
>>
I think what we're seeing is a new level of sour grapes.

>Sonic Mania comes out on consoles
>Everybody loves it, it receives universal acclaim

>Comes out on PC with DRM that has minimal effect
>"REEEEEEE THEY ADDED FUCKING DENUVO I'M PIRATING THIS SHIT"
>DRM gets cracked within a week
>"REEEEEEE THE GAME IS FUCKING HORRIBLE I'M PIRATING THIS SHIT"
>>
You kids still don't understand that video games are business, the productions are made to provide profit and any way of protecting that profit will be used, even shitty and annoying digital restrictions management like denuvo. When you make business, you want to earn as much as possible for the effort and work you put into the product. Maybe one day, when you'll want to make your own software product or a company, you'll understand.
>>
>>389372126
>on a cucksole
>superior to anything
>>
>>389372751
>minimal effect
Pretty sure online only is a huge effect, console-lards would be up in arms about it as well.
>>
>>389372751
>>Comes out on PC with DRM that has minimal effect
>>"REEEEEEE THEY ADDED FUCKING DENUVO I'M PIRATING THIS SHIT"
>>DRM gets cracked within a week
>>"REEEEEEE THEY DIDN'T WANT TO PUT IN AMY ROSE I'M PIRATING THIS SHIT"
Fixed
>>
>>389372751
That's not what sour grapes is
>>
>>389372535
It has to do with Windows themes. They cause stuttering in most applications that aren't running fullscreen.
when windows 8 and 10 rolled out, they enforced the 'Aero' theme but removed the ability to turn it off that was present in Windows 7.
It's a known issue for some people. It's some mix of theme and hardware. Some people get it, some don't.
Whatever though, you got a hard on for hating Denuvo regardless of truth, so carry on.
>>
>>389372335
igg games is legit, actually. no malware in their links.
>>
>>389372857
Extremely minimal. We live in an age where you can use your phone as a hotspot for five seconds to start the game.
>>
>delayed just to install rights restricting viruses
That's how.
I bought the game because it is legitimately good and I want to see more.
As soon as the game is cracked I'm getting rid of the denuvo filth.
>>
>>389372751
Did they delay the console version for 2 weeks just so they could shove in DRM and make refunds a living hell?
>>
>>389372950
How do i know it isn't a rootkit or something?
>>
>>389372905
Sure it is. PCfags are upset that consolenigs got the game first, so they're finding any and all excuses to talk shit about it.
>>
>>389372950
lel ok

I download games from then like once a week and I'm infested. Its ok tho I plan on getting an SS sometime and just reformat everything.
>>
>>389372981
>We
You give them too much credit. Niggers complaining about this shit are from Afghanistan and Syria and shit like that.
>>
denuvo was once a great and powerful tool.
Then studios decided to abuse the shit on their barely optimal games. the tool becomes an hindered causing people who actually bought the game suffer.

now we see producers will put this shit on a $20 romhack and have the smallest amount of actual thought

best case scenario Denuvo will go out of business if these cracks keep coming faster and faster.
>>
>>389372831
exactly, which is why as consumers our responsibility is to demonstrate that these archaic practices are ineffective and end up costing them sales
>>
>>389373060

>>
>>389373567
Amy Rose was one of the original 4 characters.

Sonic 1: Sonic (obviously)
Sonic CD: Amy
Sonic 2: Tails
Sonic 3: Knuckles

Amy wasn't playable but neither was Nack, and he only showed up in a Game Gear game so he's about as irrelevant as it gets.
>>
It would take 7000 copies of mania to be sold that otherwise wouldn't have been sold, plus making up whatever copies were lost due to people that would have otherwise bought refusing to buy the game with denuvo to make back the $100.000 from the denuvo license.
Somehow I doubt it was worth it.
>>
>>389373931
Thank you, exactly. Nobody gives a fuck about the game gear games anyway.
>>
>>389373567
Amy would make way more sense and I'm not even a sonic fag. That suggestion in that pic just looks like straight up furry shit.
>>
>>389374207
Nackfags are notorious furries and he's an ugly character anyway, he looks too different. However Amy is pure. The choice is clear.
>>
>>389371495
Because in ten years time denuvo servers will be shut down and I will be unable to legitimately play the game I payed for on pc. Denuvo is one of the most anti-consumer software out there today and everyone should be against it
>>
>>389374158
The game gear games are good for what they are, and I actually like the system quite a bit. Doesn't make Nack any more relevant of a character though.
>>
>>389374323
>Implying you'll even be able to install the game on the then-current OS in 10 years time.

Master System Sonic was a cool game. I can barely remember it, but I know it was different and harder.
>>
It's been cracked now though so pirates can play it and I'm happy that more can enjoy the game.

And now I can play it on my dual core laptop since it won't rape the performance now that Denovo is gone.
>>
>>389374323
Yes yes the sky is falling and north korea is going ot nuke us
>>
>>389373931
>>389374463
Well to be fair he's more relevant to Mania than Amy is. His face is plastered all over Mirage Saloon Zone, and you get to fight a mirage of him, but Amy only gets a doll. The Sonic CD reps are more the stages, and Metal Sonic.
I did however see some unused graphics of a love tester with a real Amy cameo, was that a thing? Why was that cut?
>>

The fuck you talking about.
The chaos emerald levels are fucking fun as fuck.
You have a good sense of control and mobility, you've got a ring counter which gives you a sense of urgency to get more rings and you have a MACH counter which increases speed but also diminishes your handling which makes it a risk/reward system.

It was like the CD special stages without the stupid time-killing water and having to rotate 180 degrees just because the UFO zipped to the side within a split second and with an actual goal in front of you. Fuck it's probably the best special stage in all of Sonic.

It needed a Sonic1+Knuckles Bluesphere Seed system where it has shitloads of levels because getting one chance and failing it and having to find another ring to just replay it is the only part I hated.

>Bluespheres blow them out the water
>Limited visibility
>Limited control

I don't get why people can't just like a game.

I honestly just bought Sonic Mania on a whim and didn't give a shit about the hype. Played it, still playing it weeks later, and 2 weeks later people are bitching about denuvo.

It's a genuinely fun and enjoyable game, which for modern day platformers it's a rarity because all platformers nowadays just tries to be the next big rogue-like game.

All-in-all, this just shows how fragile the PC community is that they rather ruin the reputation of a programmer who had nothing to do with the company's decision and the game that came along with it because of the "principle".

Plenty of people complain about how shitty the Xbox pad is it's not like this is something new.
Bottom line is, there are differences if you play on PC and literally all of them give you a better experience than on console.

For the Xbone controller?
Kind of is.

>there are differences if you play on PC and literally all of them give you a better experience than on console.
And it's only a better experience by your own opinion given that there's a far larger console userbase than PC it goes without saying that mods and controllers are fairly meaningless in the long run.
>>
>>389393934
Use that
>>389393963
It's not my opinion. You can get exactly the same experience on PC as you do on console, or you can get a different experience tailored to you. That is objectively better.
Userbase doesn't have much to do with the experience. There's a million Honda Civic drivers, doesn't mean a Mercedes isn't a better car

That's exactly what it is anon.
You hold the opinion that mods and controller choice is better while others hold the opinion that convenience and in the case of the Switch portability is.
All of these things are ultimately pointless because they all provide the same thing to the player when it comes to general gameplay.

>>
>>389394580
You get portability with a laptop.
I'm not sure how a console is supposed to be more convenient.
You turn it on, start up the game. You do the same on PC.
Hell I can set my PC up so that it runs the game and I can just sit down and play as soon as I get home and that doesn't even require any special software.
>>

>You get portability with a laptop.
You don't. Especially not with Sonic Mania.
Not to mention there's still a fair amount of set up if you want to use a controller that isn't bluetooth.
On top of that it's not great for short journeys.
>You turn it on, start up the game. You do the same on PC.
This case with Sonic Mania should show you one of the many inconveniences of PC.

One more time what you hold is an opinion.

DRM tends to fall in two categories:
There's DRM that treats you like a thief (Denuvo), and DRM that provides various quality of life features to make the users feel comfortable using it.

Steam as a DRM does prevent piracy in a lot of cases by requiring the Steam client to be installed and to sync your account, however Steam also has various conveniences such as its own store, a friends list, text and voice chat clients, developer-friendly APIs, achievements, profiles, etc. that make it feel more like a storefront with a social platform that just so happens to also be DRM. You can even use your games offline if the Steam client has synced your account before going offline, as well as use games installed from other users logged in on your PC.

Denuvo on the other hand is just straight up "you bought the game and we're going to check on you to see if you've still had it purchased by forcing you to only be able to run the game when I can phone home to mommy-servers". There's nothing friendly or lively about a strict DRM that provides nothing but an error message when you don't have a constant internet connection, especially if the game is a singleplayer-heavy game like Sonic Mania.

Most controllers are plug and play. Anything made in the past decade supports xinput. If mania supported directinput put then everything would be plug and play but that's beside the point.
Most consoles aren't good for short journeys either, the Switch sure. I'll give you that. Could play on a tablet though, even with a controller dock if you wanted a similar form factor.

You didn't present any case with Sonic mania where playing in console is more convenient.

Controllers are plug and play on both, though you can play with kbm or any wacky controller you choose on PC with a little setup.
Both can be played from a couch on the TV.
PS Pro supports native 4k as does pc, with PC able to go beyond that. Xbox S can upscale.
Both have the same gameplay, except PC allows modding and has a dedicated Super button.
Both fuck you in the ass with DRM, but PC can be cracked.

Where does console have an advantage?
While there are differences among consoles that might make you choose one over the other, the PC has the strengths of every console.

Tails is actually Easy Mode to people since you can easily get to the top path.

I meant playing as him solo, I guess Sonic+Tails is the "default" mode but you can use him for flight with Sonic by holding up & pressing the jump button to grab onto him.

Why aren't you playing Sonic Mania on a REAL CRT?
>>
>>389371495
your problem is that you give a shit about it

like, don't... you'll be much happier
>>
>>389400814
Tails = Easy mode because higher jump height and flight
Sonic = normal
Knuckles = hard mode because lower jump height. It feels like he runs slower too but that might just be the placebo effect.
