I sure love those meaningful and consequential choices in modern video games.

Not every single line in a game can give you ten wildly different choices that will vastly influence every detail of the story.
Honestly i kind of like dialogue choices like that as a tool to show how the character is thinking. Only works if the character is more than just what the player controls, of course.
