Has there ever been a truly great call of duty campaign? I know a lot of those big name games were fantastic in the beginning but got shittier over time but I honestly don't remember ever being really impressed or even exceptionally entertained by a campaign on any call of duty game. I played pretty much all of them too. My favorite aspect of any of them was zombies but even that sucks now. How are these games still being made when they're so blatantly just the same old bullshit being churned out year after year?

Cod 4 mw2-3 Kino

But we're they really or are you just busting a nostalgia nut?

I liked Black Ops 3. It may not have been coherent but it certainly didn't take shit from anyone. Surprised they got away with a surreal rollercoaster like that in a AAA big dick franchise.

Infinite Warfare has great characters and the multicultural shit wasn't a black dick worship circle so that was refreshing. Great gunplay, enemy variety, and every planet had its own style.

I like video games.

cod2 was truly a good game
generic but entertaining ww2 story spanning multiple perspectives, played it the other day and was still having a blast with it.
mw2 was pretty good as well

Ghosts literally had bane as the villain, and black ops 3 started resembling end of evangelion towards the end. Quality wise, black ops 2 campaign and the modern warfare franchise as a whole was kino, the twist in the first black ops was nice, and all ww2 games were comfy. Advanced warfare had potential, but they ruined it by forcing kevin spacey to be the villain, could have been nice to have a choice to side with him

Ghost was good strictly because you were a wet work ops team who executed everyone you ran into. Guard? Dead. Employee on an oil rig? Dead. Office worker? Dead.

Also it was interesting to see America be the underdog and the final battle not be about ending the war, but to just ensure America survives to fight another day.

Exactly. Multiplayer was interesting, too, lots of unorthodox ideas, and you had to work together wit your team instead of running around with an automatic pistol like a retard, I think all those bo2 kiddies are the reason why it wasn't well recieved. I like to think the capaign of ghosts is what happens when you choose the "bad end" and kill menendez in bo2, fits with the atmosphere

I played them recently and they're good but get tiring gameplay-wise pretty fast, or maybe it's just because I've played them a million times. But brainlessly shooting the infinitely enemies gets brain numbing and starts to just grind on you.

The "cinematic experience" of them is great when they create specific moments, but it always feels like as soon as shots are fired it becomes fucking exhausting immediately and I just want to run through the enemies to a checkpoint. There's a reason people remember All Ghillied Up, the AC130 mission, Cliffhanger, crawling through the rain in Berlin or wherever.

This is true of the Treyarch CoDs WaW and BlOps too. Those games were great at creating campaign moments where you were sort of in control but not really, but when it came down to firefights it gets tedious and boring more of the time. Also everything after Modern Warfare didn't even have cheats to make repeat playthroughs more fun.

I'll never forgive Treyarch for killing the Iron Wolf trilogy for the sake of robots pandering.

Although it may also have been legal shit with Infinity Ward, but still.
