Depends on how good the games are. I loved Mania and BOTW. If Odyssey and Samus Returns and Xenoblade 2 turn out great, that may very well be the case for me.

I dont know about other people but i will, it was a pretty fucking good year, we even got the official funeral for Episode 3, most games didnt disappointed me this year. Hopefully Odyssey is good enough to go along with the above.

I grew up with the NES and I have nostalgia for PS1 games

so it is certainly possible

however the generations after that sort of bleed together, and there isn't as much of a "leap" forwards so maybe newer generations won't be the same
