Anyone have experience with Baldur's Gate?
I think I'm about halfway through Siege of Dragonspear and I just hit level 9 with my fighter (Wizard Slayer kit). I want to dual class to thief for Use Any Item (and traps on traps on traps) but I don't know if I should do so now or wait till level 13.
Seeing as I've never played 2, but I will import my char, what would be the most fun or powerful? Dual now or later? If later, will I be stuck as a thief for an eternity?
This mess makes me want to multiclass instead. Maybe next time.

Multiclass is better for a fighter/thief. You might as well wait until level 13 at this point, thieves level up extremely quickly. Whatever you choose you will be stuck with a thief that has above average hp. You won't get the endgame fighter abilities or thac0.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I tried not to look too much into powergaming for my first play through. Wizard Slayer was probably a bad choice, as was dual class, as was greatswords. Core rules is pretty easy though so I think I can finish the game with this
