AoE2 is a game that just refuses to die.

Lived through ages(lol) of neglect by Mircrosoft. Then survived the community split with the HD release and actually both communities are doing quite well. Now MS wants to cash in on it once more, which will lead to another community split, but probably also to a whole new level of popularity with new players.

But MS does not realize, that you cannot improve perfection, thats why 4 will fail and 2 will stay strong. This game is built for eternity.

It's 2017, dude. It's a damn good game, but the technical aspects like resolution, framerate and most importantly netcode need to be adapted for the current year.

If MS is smart they will focus on these three things only and leave everything else as it is. All this game really needs is some future proofing. HD was a good start, but they royally fucked up the netcode, because it actually runs worse. This above everything else needs fixing.
