I think For Honor was going to be a MOBA but someone at ubisoft noticed how moba like games were bombing hard so they needed something else. I personally think if For Honors dominion was actually more like a MOBA it would be better

It's the perfect gamemode.

P2P did ruin the game on PC due to lag switch cheaters and constant leavers break entire matches, along with fast classes like Peacekeeper and Orochi (and more recently Centurion) having game-breaking attacks/stunlocking combos that hit faster than the other classes could switch blocking stances. This, combined with the incompetent devs literally basing their balance updates on which character's mains screamed and whined the most (buffing Peacekeeper while leaving characters like Lawbringer and Conqueror nigh useless), effectively killed the game.

The game's failure is entirely on the devs' fault for not being able to balance the game for all the promised modes. You can't expect a community not to exploit a game's flaws at any point.
