Western is better, Eastern looks like a picture of a fire, which looks odd when stationary. Western isn't actually good, its kinda lazy. This is a "Win because you took it safe and the other side blew it".

I'll take Western in a close race. Eastern is really well-done, but the "rising mountain of characters" is a cliche I see in a lot of Japanese shit, and giving them spotlight on the boxart and putting Link at the forefront diminishes the Mask's gravitas. Western pushes the Mask as the center of the game, and keeps the mystery of the game in a way that showing a bunch of characters doesn't. If it were a regular Zelda, I'd give the nod to Eastern, because I think its superb. But for the specific atmosphere of Termina, Western takes it.

Eastern in a landslide. Western Majora's Mask more minimalist approach works for Termina, has no business being in Happy Cel-Shaded Ocean Land. Its just lazy. Eastern's not even all that good.
