I don't know it seems harder than final fantasy at least. you can only save in two of the 5 towns I've found so far and nowhere else, and there's no easy way to rest up inside dungeons. I think my party is unbalanced and I'm intentionally not using armor, but just the things I mentioned are making it difficult. also my hero isn't gaining hp for some reason so I die really fast.

Usually you are fine if you make a good use of all resources available to you. Some things people often don't seem to figure out are many items being usable and useful during battles or that the stat buff spells stack and debuffs like sap are actually useful. But instead of trying these things out most retards just spend their time grinding for levels and then whine about having to grind for levels.

Really though,Dragon Quest games are pretty much a cake walk till you get to the final boss. Just don't run from the random fights and you do fine. Although exception to that being DQ8. Quite a few bosses can kick your shit in until you just start grinding and learn some part-wide support spells like Multiheal on Jessica..

yes I just beat those bandits to get the king's crown back. I was getting my shit rekt so I had to warp back to town and load up on healing herbs. I thought I could do without a healer until I was able to change my jester into a sage, but it's not working too well. I really don't understand why my hero's stats are so low. I used a flowchart to make him happy personality so I don't think it's because of that.
