The only reason a person plays on Ultima is because they like playing with brazilian hackers and cheaters, having broken/imbalanced equipment, and nobody ever being online anyway.

Ephinea is the only legitimate option anymore if you want a reasonably authentic multiplayer experience sans cheats and hacks.

I actually like it that way though, there's no hardcore community or pressure to grind so you can fuck around and do suboptimal missions without worry
I always try to play it with /v/ in PSO threads for that reason, because if the server's ever completed it's likely to get flooded by hardcore grind japs
but until then it's just comfy and there's reason to explore lobbies/missions you otherwise wouldn't

PSO was such a "has a lot of potential but once you play it you realize it's trash" game...

It's fun to play with your friends and beat the AI a couple of times, but man that grind was long and tedious...
