Besides Decidueye, Deluxe is just patches and characters that were released for the Arcade version and withheld from the Wii U version so they could sell you idiots an updated version for full price again.

He's actually right: Despite the 2d/3d stuff and the fact it looks gimmicky, the core of pokken is actually mostly in lije with traditional 2d fighters. To be sure, it has a few unique mechanics, but the meat of the gameplay takes place in the 2d phase, which is about 75% in line with traditional 2d fighters and shares all of the same systems and mechanics as them: how the camera and movement system work Attack heights, multiuple attack buttons, resets, cancels, crossups, different inputs for each character that all have different move properties; it's got the same fundamentals with oki/wakeup game, setups/baits, mixups, foosties, etc.

The only real ways it differs is it's height system is based on attacks going over or under each other rather then block, that attacks tech/can punish grabs rather then grabs teching each other, and the phase shift system (the 3d stuff) which while pretty impactful to the gameplay, doesn't actually make it that much less of a traditional 3d fighter mechanically since it's mostly a anti infinite system that forces a return to neutral and incentives combo and playstyle diversity (I can clarify if people want)

Fighting type is the single most common type on the roster with 5 mons, 6 if you count libre. hitmons would have been shit because they only punch or kick really, which every character does. Breloom would combine chan;s boxing with lee's stretchy limbs plus spore moves if you wanna get the only uniqueish things they have.
