I stopped playing FPSs a few years ago because they were all I played and I got bored of them, I recently played DOOM MP and now I'm fucking shit, that's why I'm not playing quake

arena shooters are boring because they lack substance. i spent my childhood playing games like these and I need more than just twitch shooting to be entertained. Quake Champs is a good game I'm just tired of this genre because it plateued in the early 2000s along with the stealth genre.

Games like Red Orchestra 2 are completely different in terms of speed, scale of maps, TTK, etc. Quake is all about map awareness, keeping your stack of health and armor high to give yourself the best advantage, fast movement, and reflexes.
