A question to weebs:
How can you talk shit about western games being too "cinematic" when eastern games are just as bad? I've been playing alot of eastern games lately (particularly Yakuza and Persona) and they're more "cinematic" than say Uncharted 4.
Many eastern games are guilty of gameplay taking the backseat to narrative. How can you defend this?
A bad game is a bad game. east or west.
Call me a weeb cause i play both types and watch a lot of anime.
but there is good and bad in both. pick it out instead of generalizing everything on either side.

I'm not generalizing everything on either side, I'm just pointing out the double standard that weebs seem to ignore.
I actually like both eastern and western vidya.

honestly most games aren't even as cinematic as people claim
TLOU, for instance, always gets shit for being a movie, but it actually has really good gameplay.

Uncharted 4 is third person shooter action game, Persona 5 is a JRPG, one being overly cinematic gets in the way of gameplay, whereas the overly cinematic nature of the other is part of the gameplay.
I know the image says "fps map design" but it's true to many genres (like both J- and WRPGs) regardless of whether they are made. Also I think people complain about games being too "openworlded" nowadays and actually WANT more linear and cinematic games nowadays.

Yakuza is a 3rd person action game but is still very cinematic.
