Now the PS1 game? That's literally the original game but with bugfixes and better visuals. It even has the option to disable retargeting.

It depends on how much the remake changes. Some remakes only really make QOL changes, then you have stuff like your pic where they redid the magic system among other things.

I am playing FFXII The Zodiac Age now. I played FFXII on release 10 years ago. TZA is better in every way.

Random encounters take like a billion damage from spells so any caster wipes them out no problem. Bosses are a different story.
