Games like silent hill 2, i have no mouth and I must scream, planescape torment provide incredibly deep and meaningful experiences.

The problem with games (personal opinion) is that, the nature of what a videogame is, makes it hard to be enjoyed buy most people. A movie can be enjoyed buy anyone. You just need to sit in front of a screen and appreciate what is happening in front of you

A game requires knowledge of mechanics, in game mechanics, interactions. It forces to person to engage in the action and it won't allow that person to move forward till that person manages to beat the challenges ahead of him/her (a enemy, a puzzle etc)

No matter how much I love Silent Hill 2 story, I know some of my friends will never have the chance of experiencing and knowing what I know about the game story or feel what I feel because they don't play games. And the requirement to enjoy a game is far more superior than the requirement to enjoy a movie or a book.

I'm pretty sure he's only done one movie review so far, which I'm sure is why OP made this thread. He probably should've saved it for Halloween but whatever.

The blanket answer over all of these is that movies are way fucking easier to edit around a review than a video game because they are way, way fucking shorter. It's why I'm going to start doing movie reviews along with my video game ones. The real question is whether they're any good. AVGN is great because you get a good feeling that he has a strong understanding and appreciation for the medium, which makes sense given his background. Dunkey is way too subjective, same with his vidya reviews, but he's alright and his passion seems authentic. JonTron isn't even really reviewing and all his movies are obviously bad anyway so what's the point? I don't know why more people don't look at AVGN's Ricky II "review" as a good example of this style.

I honestly doubt that Dunkey will start constantly reviewing movies. He's a creative guy and hasn't been afraid in the past to do something different when he feels the need, which is one of the reasons I respect him. Now don't get me wrong, the main reason I watch him is because he makes me laugh consistently. But I also enjoy his commentary and opinions on things when he's being semi-serious. Is everything he does great? Of course not. But I like that he tries new things.
