ITT: Autistic things you do when playing vidya.

Whenever I'm playing Star Wars Battlefront, I pretend that the characters have all died and gone to hell, and that they've been damned to an eternity of fighting each other on the same maps again and again. This is so I don't lose it over things like seeing Lando fighting on Hoth, or Greedo killing Han Solo at Jabba's Palace.
>>
I play as a sniper based character or class whenever I can.
>>
I play video games.

I grind for lengthy periods of time.
>>
>someone is playing a video game
>in game character gets hurt
>person playing says "uh ow?!" or some variation of it as if they got hurt

I started to notice this shit a few years ago and now I can't possibly unhear it and it pisses me off every single time now.

On numerous occasions, I've started a game only to realize I don't like it, but felt compelled to get all the achievements anyway. The Last Door would be a recent example. Everything except the soundtrack is just boring as shit, or worse; the graphics, in particular, are just offensive. But I started the game so I had to 100% it.

This doesn't mean I have to 100% complete every game I play. If 100% completion is unreasonable, I won't attempt it, but I have to actively ignore the achievements list or I'll be tempted to waste a ton of time on it. And if I do think I can reasonably get 100% completion, having an incomplete game will annoy the shit out of me until it's done.

There are several games (Hard Reset, Shadow Warrior, Spec Ops: The Line) in which I effectively have every achievement except the one for beating the game on the hardest difficulty, and that's the worst. In the case of Spec Ops: The Line, it's just because playing the game would be too tedious. I'm sure I'll do it someday. But for Hard Reset and Shadow Warrior, beating the game on the hardest difficulty level is just lightyears beyond any other achievement because the hardest difficulty doesn't have checkpoints. I'm tempted to try using Cheat Engine on Hard Reset just to get the achievement unlocked, because the second-hardest difficulty level (which does have checkpoints) was the fucking limit of what I could ever accomplish. Making it even harder AND removing mid-level checkpoints is just evil. But I still want the achievement because the game is literally 98% complete right now.

I researched literally everything I could in XCOM2, even Breakthrough's I no longer needed, just to do it. It took me 25 days to get magnetic weapons (average was like 70 or 90), but took 200 days to get Beam weapons (compared to 120 odd average). I'm pretty autistic re min-maxing too which is why I don't play pokemon any more.

I always use the characters' canon name in games that ask to enter the name. If I don't know it, I look it up.

When I'm playing an RTS, I do avsolutely everything I can to keep my guys alive, even if it implies abandoning a position or wasting abysmal ammounts of ressources.

I don't know why I'm doing it. I guess it's because some part of me goes "Hey, those guys will go through horror and pain just so the mission can be accomplished, and they're completely relying on you to guide them the whole time."
So somehow I guess I feel responsible for my soldier's lives, especially infantry.

>Third person shooter with Regen health
>Pretend that "getting hit" is actually the bullets just getting REALLY close to you so that you need to take a break from combat and let your perception come back so that you can dodge the bullets again
Works in gears of war and uncharted, not in GTA/Max Payne because those games have bullet decals. Also, they have health packs but the point still stands. It's hardly believable to control a character that's riddled with bullet hold and still sprinting and aiming at full speed and strength

I get unreasonably angry when my friends fire their guns randomly. I' be playing PUBG so it's tense and a lot of listening for enemies.

So we'll hear a gunshot and take cover, but it was just Evan. Fucking Evan, firing his gun by accident or something. Once we legit got shot while in a car and pulled over and took cover and went battle stations. After a few minutes he confessed it was him and he want to see if you could shoot friendlies in a car. Yes, you can.

I was fucking around on a bike and my mate wanted to shoot out the tires to troll me or something. He shot my character and I was so mad that he damaged my health bar with his ineptitude that I sperged out and downed him in retaliation. A game with a tame build system I'll just drop. Like Kingdoms of Amalur, their builds were too vanilla, like +5% two handed damage.

If a game has a unique defensive mechanic like a parry, just guard, or perfect dodge, I will purposefully throw fights to fight a boss or enemy so I can fight them enough to figure out the timing for their attacks. It makes me feel like I've won "correctly" if I had a strong offense and a flawless defense. This basically kept me at the bottom of the barrel in 3rd strike because I tried to parry 90% of the time. I probably also lost 90% of the time.

I prefer the opposite.

Is there any game that actually does that?

I look up female NPC character skirts.
>>
I put a gas mask on Piper in Fallout 4 because of my fetish.
It made the rest of the game a bit more tolerable desu

I started talking myself to my head. Basically thinking in the second person. It's vidya relevant because I started doing so after playing Hotline Miami, where the chicken talks to you in a demeaning way.
>>
>>389112092
Because it's the only way to have an intelligent conversation nowadays.
>>
I used to pretend that, no matter the game, my character was James Bond.

Not vidya-related, but whenever I used to take a shit, I'd hum the Imperial March to myself and pretend I was Darth Vader taking a dump.

Not gas masks specifically, just women's faces being obscured by some mask or helmet.
Silent Hill's nurses or Catwoman's goggles when the artist draws them as opaque, for instance.

I think a few final fantasy games do it, fuck I know more but I can't think of them right now, cave story but that one is kinda bullshit
Some Diablo clone I've forgotten the name of
>>
>>389102363
I speak English when I play games, while it's not my native language
>>
>>389102363
I speak to my character and npcs out loud.
Sometimes I pretend like I am there in the game along with them and pretend to change the plot and what happens with my actions and what I do often giving myself magical powers or abilities.

I'll say "Ow" in a game out of habit if I'm into it and I haven't gotten hurt in a while. Don't know why.
>>
>>389102363
I use my real name in any game where you have to name the MC. If the game has a character creator I try to get the MC's face as similar to mine as possible.
When I defeat a particularly challenging boss in any game I drop my control and raise my arms in victory.
When my team wins a Killing Floor 1/2 round I yell
If you have to name all the characters in your party (example: the Etrian Odyssey games) I name them after my family members and friends.

i used to do it out loud

>so in this part i do blah blah

I waste tons of time fucking around with the ai trying to get it into situations it has no clue how to handle
>nudge cars in gta without causing the driver to get out so I can watch it go crazy trying to find the road or suicide off a cliff
>try to trap enemies and see if it can make it out
>see if they can swim

If I can fight with multiple spells/attacks I will always use the weakest/least expensive available and switch to the strongest when I get my ass kicked

yes cant think of them off the top of my head but yes they exist, i remember one game where if you keep the starter sword and hold onto it you get a quest and can make the weapon broken af.

In Fallout NV I position NPC bodies to look like they've been raped/tortured, its single handedly the most autistic thing I do in games.

Got bored and created an alternate story in Melee with each character. The story was mainly about how Dr. Mario was this evil overlord/mad scientist and was trying to create an army of bad guys to conquer planets. The only thing that could stop him was a handful of rogue characters that banded together for a greater good

>Ganondorf was the presumed leader and thought to be main force behind the ( evil group ) the plot twist was it's actually Dr. Mario who was the main villain brainwashing him

>Mewtwo One of Dr. Mario's failed experiments, while very powerful this wasn't his " Perfect Celll " sorta speak but more or less a mutation of Ness, which is what he was trying to create

>Ness The psychic monster that Dr was trying to create finally perfected.

>Game & Watch This was Ness's shadow brought to life as a side-effect of experimentation while trying to ramp up Ness's power beyond it's limit.

>DK This was Dr.Mario's creation while trying to originally create a " Hulk " like warrior. The serum was highly unstable so he decided to test it on an ape first and this was the result.

>Marth A soldier with sworn loyalty to the doctor although it was certain if it was by choice or the doc's brainwashing methods

>Kirby This was one of the doc's earliest achievements in his research. This was how he was able to extract power from various warriors and fighters to help aid in his experiments

The Doc's 3 assassins

>Fox, Sheik, and their leader Capt Falcon. If he needed someone taken out quickly this deadly and loyal trio was his go to.

The good guys

>Bowser Originally was a bad guy but broke free from the Doc's lab and joined the resistance

>Samus She was the leader of the resistance and was the main influence of banding everyone together to stop Ganondorf/Dr.Mario.

>Falco An ex assassin of the trio mentioned above.

Other heroes that joined the resistance

>Link, Luigi, Pikachu, Roy, Yoshi, Ice Climbers

I have only played games that I can masturbate to.
So I haven't played many games...
I've watched some but not play...
DOA X games can be kind of fun. Nier as well. Tomb Raider. Not the new ones... I'm no sadist.
Some japanese stuff. I like cartoon girls in paninees.
Lolipop chainsaw. Swimsuit samurai.
I feel so stupid... i just... don't want to play and not be able to cum if I feel like it..

The only way I can play the game as a "game" (and not heavily roleplay) is to pretend I'm some sort of player-meta-god that got stuck in that videogame reality (basically I'm pretending that I'm playing a videogame). For example in Fallout 4 (Yeah, I know. I played NV for a 900 hours, but I have fun with F4 as a survival loot shooter, too) I can't force myself to take caps before my character learns that they are used as currency, or help the minutemen in Concord without "accidentally" setting up my fight with the raiders because why would somebody who just exited the vault just shoot a random group of people that are in a fight with someone. How do I know that they're good or bad? I'm just one guy/girl, why the fuck is this my problem and how can I possibly help?

In New Vegas I would blindly walk into all the ambushes because my character doesn't know about them.

So to know about the ambushes and know about the best loot and strategies, I need to pretend that my character has already know all of this by being in this game that I play.

>write long, in-character journals for various protagonists of single player games
>especially immersive sims or RPGs
I've got seven fucking pages for half the campaign of the latest Homefront game, and that's not counting the DLC.
>>
I have a deep hatred for anything "meta" if anything in a multi-player or even single player game is considered part of the meta I will go out of my way to never use it until something takes its place
>>
>>389124910
>seven fucking page
Oh wow, seven whole pages! Watch out everyone, this guy wrote SEVEN PAGES!
Fuck off, idiot.

I spend minutes or even hours deciding a name for my RPG character while going trough long lists of Celtic, Norse or Slavic names, trying to find fitting names with special meaning.

It's fun to think out loud like that

I talk by myself about the game and pretend i'm talking about it to a friend of mine so next time we meet i can recommend it or not

Since i'm bad at conversations, "playing" them beforehand by myself has helped immensly. I sound way less tense when i talk about shit to my friends and people in general since i started doing that.

in tenkaichi 3 I'd make teams using goku and gohan in the frieza force armor and act out AU scenarios where they never lived on Earth, and go integrated into frieza's army like frieza and raditz

how exactly Gohan exists if Goku never met Chichi I never bothered to figure out. I just sort of assumed that no matter who the mother is, Goku's son would always be Gohan

I theorycraft build paths, skill sets, and loadouts for games that I haven't and never intend to play.
