Africa?

Because it's overpriced as fuck
>>
>>389039980
No nostalgia indoctrination. It's not that Nintendo is unpopular in SA, it's that it's only popular in Murica and Japan
>>
>>389039980
Because buying a console is fucking expensive as hell, it's more worthwhile to build a PC and play F2P games or pirate.
>>
>>389039980
Because they are poorfags who can't afford video games.
>>
Its cause Nintendo execs had meetings in brazil and they brought along their daughters and their daughters got hue'd
>>
>>389040450
You mean retarded socialist economic policy artificially inflates the prices.

Why is Nintendo so unpopular in this part of the world?

I heard gaming in general is expensive in Brazil. Live over there and pirating might be your only option.

Europe.

>>389039980
Nintendo games are pretty hard to find in argentina, at least.
It's either digital only or bust.
>>
>>389039980
Have you seen the prices there?
Sony is the only one that distributes directly there, it is the only company with decent prices, meanwhile Switch and Xbox One go for over 500$.
>>
>>389039980
Honest answer

It doesn't have Dragonball games or many big showy games in general.

My fellow spics like hype shit with intense narration just watch the announcer in a football, soccer, game and look at the intensity it brings and watch as the crowds cheer like they won the fucking lottery. Nintendo does not offer that experience. Nintendo is very mundane and down to Earth going for the non-degenerate market that runs on shock and spectacle and appeals to simple moral foundation of humanity.

Spics care about family and thus find Nintendo's family atmosphere to be boring as they live it daily working for fucking pennies while trying to provide for their families, before they get into drugs and end up in a well that is.

So in short Nintendo is just not a spectacle. Nintendo has cultural and morale values that are below that of the typical spic FAMILY unit. Note interpersonal morals and values all depend on if they consider you to be family otherwise watch your back
>>
I guess piracy. Same applies to slav countries, they had tons of NES knockoffs and in the PS1/PS2 gen, they just sold pirated discs. Couldn't do that with Nintendo games.
>>
Mexico is the only country that matters to Nintendo in latinamerica
>>
Is the issue here that pricing is too expensive

That and pirating makes for a bad combo.

For perspective the switch costs 480 us dollars in Mexico and their average pay is 5 bucks an hour

Its difficult to pirate and what cant be pirated is too expensive. Thats why Nintendo hasnt been popular down there since the snes.

Because it's the home of soccer and drugs and everything scummy, barely anyone would have interest in Nintendo over the others, especially given the prices there.
>>
>>389040681
That has nothing to do with it tho, only Brazil is retarded about vidya.

Colombian here. In my opinion it was a bunch of factors.
1. Piracy. While this country was NES / SNES territory, when the fifth console generation came the Playstation was cheaper and the games could be pirated, making it the console of choice while only a few people (the ones with acquisitive power) bought the N64.
Have in mind this country is a third world country so people go to the cheapest alternative.
2. From the Playstation era onwards Nintendo is seen as a platform for children. All the games people here want to play (sports games, fighting games, shooters) are on the other platforms. Twenty years ago business similar to Internet cafes but with consoles were popular and even then they only had a few Nintendo 64 (mainly for Goldeneye and Mario Kart 64) because people wanted to play mainly Playstation games. Next gen was the same thing except replace Playstation with Xbox and Halo.

>>389040681
/pol/ please. Our countries are poor, have poor acquisitive power and our money is weak. That's it.

Don't bother arguing with third worlders, they can't even understand the reality of their own country. Colombians are no better than niggers in terms of intellectual development.

They're only marginally better off because they're close to the US and they get all the perks of living next to white civilizations.

Nintendo was pretty big in latin america during the 90s.
Admittedly the way most latin americans got into Nintendo was through Famiclones, piracy, but by the time SNES came out, there weren't SNESclones (at least, I never saw one, they weren't common like Famiclones were), and piracy of SNES carts was less common as well. But since latin america enjoyed a small economic bubble in the 90s, Nintendo was still affordable for the middle-class here.
The 2000s were pretty harsh with the economy, so Nintendo became a sort of luxury thing only for the rich, and common people had to content themselves with going to the cyber cafe and paying $1 and hour to play Counter-Strike or GTA III.
Nowadays it's still kind of like that, except since Youtube and LPs became a thing, most kids don't really play vidya anymore.
>>
>>389048310
Playstation is just leagues above nintendo
>>
>>389048776
Yeah, I forgot to mention PlayStation and its piracy (and soccer games) also are popular here, but nowadays, Youtube and LPs are the most popular thing for kidsm and luckily for parents, free.
>>
Because based Nintendo hates filthy Latin niggers.
>>
>>389049146
Both Koji Kondo and Hirokazu Tanaka have a lot of influence from latin american music though.
