Sunless Skies is out in early access today, it's the sequel to Sunless seas.
Are you going to play it? The original was pretty big on /v/ iirc

Not until it's out of EA
>>388960470
So more of the same but in sky?
>>388961915
Yep
I'll definitely grab it when it's out for real. This is the kind of game that lives and dies by its volume of content and I've got a plenty of other stuff to play in the mean time.
>>388961993
Might be cool when it's finished then.
>go to olde timey space
>it's full of fog
>you fly a train, that doesn't have tracks
why even fucking bother
>>388960470
There are no themes in skies
The setting made the first one so special. Dark mysterious, corrupt. The sequel looks happy... or at least happier and brighter. Not sure if I'm a fan of that, because in my eyes that was the only thing that made it interesting.
>>388960470
If this follow the same scheme as Sunless Sea then it's for sure I'm getting it when goes out of EA.
Sell me on this game /v/. I haven't played sunless sea but both of these games look interesting.

"You like a pretty much 90° vertical learning curve? Restarting over and over and over again, because you fucked up? You like H.P. Lovecraft stories and solving deep, creepy, twisted stories? You prefer walls of un-narrated text instead of spoonfed audio dialogues? Then, my good sir, this game is for you"
>>388963089
It's the natural choice of a sequel
You can't kill judgements if you stay in the neath, and the liberation of the night is the only direction the setting could advance into
>>388960470
Why are you retards buying skins for the same game ?
>>388964653
>impliying there is a single human being that played the game for the gameplay
dumb weeb
>>388960470
I bought it despite hating the shit out of Sunless Sea because the Kickstarter price was sufficiently cheap for me to hope that they'll stop being idiots and make a good game. They won't, but when they inevitably shit the bed again I won't be out enough money to care.
>>388964854
Do you know where you are.......
You need to go back
>>388964319
I dunno, maybe a sequel around areas like the cumean canal or "the way up" to the surface would've been cool. big canals spreading across the darkness above AND below. like Metropolis but underwater.

But sunlelss sea was EA too
Is it Grinding: The Game again?
>see game on free weekend trial months ago
>download and play it
>LE EBIN CHARACTER SELECT:
>LE BALD, LE MUSTACHIOED, LE VICTORIAN QUEEN, LE RADFEM, LE GOGGLES CHARACTERS
>backstories all gay and boring
>crew mates all steampunk fanfic-tier garbage
>LE EBIN SHIP CAT MASCOT XD
>set voyage to nearby port to deliver some gross thing to some mongoloid
>navigate near beacons to keep ship sanity high
>keep engines at decent pace to avoid mechanical issues/high fuel consumption
>show up at port, read some more gay steampunk fanfic
>accept contract for new cargo
>go back to original port and deliver news and intel to port master
>read more gay fanfic-tier trash
>explore far waters
>boring shit
>sea serpent
>glowing things
>some mummy person escapes from cargo hold and eats all the food in the galley
>read more steampunk fanfic garbage
>see giant eyeball thing in water
>ship loses more sanity
>exploring more ports, more boring steampunk fanfic crap
>sigh
>uninstall.exe
What boring shit that was. If I wanted to read a bunch of crap from tumblrinas, I'd be on reddit or huffpost. "Lovecraftian" or "Inspired by Lovecraft" are always labels shit-tier devs put on their garbage games I was not surprised.

Your a professional I see
>>388965645
It's you're, you fucking retarted cunt.

What part of my post was inaccurate? If you like the game, fine, enjoy your fedora and leather strap goggles collection, but it's a crap game.
>>388960470
>Early Access
I wouldn't even if the price wasn't so steep for the kind of game it is.
>>388960470
I'll wait on full release
but I'm excited for it
>>388960470
>>388960470
Not while it's in EA.
Hope they made the shitty boring combat interesting.
From what I read it at least now tells you the cause and effect of certain actions or when those items respawn.
I'd only get it if they reduce the retarded ammount of grind to do anything (wow so fun, salt lions trade route) and only after the game is released.

This game is a clusterfuck.
>>388966573
They said they're making it so you don't have a central hub where you have to go back every time.
Also I never understand that. You're not supposed to just go to salt lions and back to london and repeat. Make a route and include salt lions in it. Go to Hunter's Keep, get salt attention, continue on your other tasks, come back to salt lions ,get the spynxstone and your vital intell and head to london
It's buggy currently but I'm excited for the stories.

I enjoyed sunless sea, but I'm sitting on the fence on this one.
Maybe on sale and/or after ea.
