I tried it for the first time the other day and honestly it isn't too god awful as long as you approach it as an extremely simple-minded and bare-bones version of DOTA2.

It is mostly fun to play inebriated. If you suck in DOTA2 people will freak the fuck out at you. You can basically AFK in base in HotS and no one will say shit. I've only played like 7 games so far and every single one has had someone go AFK in base and literally time out from inactivity. No one said shit about it.

I only have Muradin (starter hero) and Thrall (hero from my first free box) though, so maybe I'm just not playing the "complex" characters?

I don't know, all I know is they removed Tychus' cigar and they can burn in hell as a company for all I care now.
