>BotW is still unplayable
Why people pay for this again?
>>
By 'unplayable', do you mean "playable from beginning to end, in 8k resolution, at 60 FPS"? Because that describes the current state of BotW on CEMU. And it's getting better soon.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VC07BL85dwA
>>
>>388868302
If BoTW is unplayable on Cemu, then it's a crime against humanity on Switch.
>>
Because they failed the Stanford marshmallow experiment.
Thanks to their stupidity emulation made a huge progress so it's a win-win.
Move on with your life.
>>
>800 bucks in disability checks a month
>still haven't invested in a computer that can play BotW
It's my fault. CEMU works great on faster PCs.
>>
>>388868302
he probably meant playable with crashes and more getting the game to work on an emulator than actually playing the game
>>
>>388868603
Why do you have a disability check
>>
>>388868430
That's one person with a crazy oc'd cpu, and the 2xhack glitches the game.
In real life the game is stuck at 20fps in towns and when it rains it drops to 15-20, not mentionning the cpu cache leak
>>
>>388868673
Autism. Applied for bux and successfully got it.
>>
So you can play it from start to finish with bugs, bad textures, crashes and other issues, right? Should I even bother or just wait until I get a wii u?
>>

It's just a normally OC'd CPU, 90% of 7700Ks can do 5.1ghz

>In real life the game is stuck at 20fps in towns and when it rains it drops to 15-20

Nigger it hasn't been stuck at 15-20 since a week after release. Look at the date on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z56S7yhld5Q

I've got constant 30 with a 3.4 ghz i5, BOTW is way the fuck more playable and stable than it was a month ago.
>>

to be honest I'd rather deal with low frame rate on wii u than crashes, bugs, texture problems AND low frame rate on PC

I think that durability mods are definitely due in master-mode. cracking 2 weapons to kill a black-moblin is a joke. For that matter, your durability would be better if it regenerated at the same rate that enemy health does (or at all).

>>388868902
I don't believe that, i got a 6600k at 4.5 and still only get 20 fps outdoors. also links speed seems to be related to the fps, which is pretty odd
>>
I just started playing a bit again with 1.9.1, last tried it around 1.7.3. Finished the great plateau and it seems to work really good now, pretty solid 30fps, no graphical glitches at all and no crashes yet either.
>>
>>388868302

>>
>>388868302
>Why people pay for this again?

People already finished zelda, which is a good question.... Why do people still pay for it?

I Mean everything else works on CEMU, so why continue to pay for it when there are no more games to play
>>
>>388869837
No... SSAA is what you do if your machine can't handle rendering at a much higher resolution but you still want to get rid of the jaggies. AA is essentially a prediction method where your GPU tries to predict what pixels to put in place instead of letting the engine draw them in via higher resolution. It has a far lesser impact on performance than actually fully rendering a higher resolution.

You may be confused as it is commonly said if you're using a 1440p, 2160p etc display and playing your games at those native resolutions, you can often disable AA in many titles as there are no visible jaggies at such a resolution anyways.
>>
>>388869931

I have an i7 6700k, AMD Radeon 390 with 8GB VRAM, and 16GB RAM. Mine peaks at 25 FPS. So no, that video is not the current state of BotW.
>>
I have a binned 7700k that comfortably reaches 5.2ghz, it's 30FPS everywhere and even handles the 60FPS hack in places with simpler terrain

I'm still gonna wait a couple months to play it, 60fps everywhere is going to be wonderful.

Actually, you need only a ~$500 PC to run CEMU BotW at 60fps.

An i5 7600K is the best processor for CEMU, it costs about $200. Add $30 for a Hyper 212 Evo cooler for overclocking it. Add in the cheapest NVIDIA GPU you can find, plus a mobo, PSU, and 8gb of RAM. You're good at that point.
>>
>>388869859
not him...but uh, that's because of all the aliasing no?
>>
>>388871123
He wants to show the technical info of the machine in other windows. The game still renders at the high res, it just gets downsized to match that window. It has the same performance impact.
>>
>People could have bought a wii-u with BOTW, beat it, then sold it for what most of these autists are paying to play the game at 20 FPS

lol. this is why 3rd worlders are the only people commenting on the patreon pages
>>
>>388871382
No, the blurriness. Have you ever resized an image in Photoshop and noticed it gets blurry as it gets larger? Well, putting a low-resolution game output on a high resolution monitor will give the same effect since it must be resized to fit.

I feel this is pretty much elementary school stuff and I probably shouldn't need to explain it to you.

will you idiot console faggots stop assuming PC's are crazy expensive?

No one bought a PC to play BOTW, we all already owned them. Are you new to /v/?

Anyhow, I tried Cemu with BOTW a couple months back and was able to get 4k/60fps most of the time with some tweaking on pic related. It had some glitches still, experienced no crashes after a good 10 hours or so I put into the game. The experience was definitely better than on my Wii U but I still think I'll wait another month or two as it looks like the game is finally getting to a solid 60 fps on Cemu. I've got plenty of things to play already anyways.

I don't understand shit like this. Video games as a whole are one of the cheapest cost to time hobbies out there.

>$1000 for a PC to cover console games up to PS2 era, as well as still handle most modern games
>$270 for a PS4 with 1 game
https://smile.amazon.com/PlayStation-Slim-500GB-Console-Uncharted-Bundle/dp/B01LRLJV28/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1504217438&sr=1-1&keywords=Playstation+4
>$300~350 for a Nintendo Switch
>$100~150 for a Nintendo 2/3DS, easily hacked so all games are free
So for ~$1770 you can own three consoles, and if you round it out to $3.000 you can purchase 20.5 games at $60. That's less than I spend on my other hobbies, and I get a far greater value per hour.

Pretty much this.

I have 2 gaming desktops both with i7s and 1080 Tis, one in my living room with 4 gamepads for co-op and couch gaming, the other at a desk setup for whatever else.

Have a Ps4, Ps4 Pro, Xbone, Wii U and pretty much every console of every gen prior. No Switch cause it has no games yet. All of this? Doesn't even hurt the bank account in any meaningful way.

Gaming is a cheap as shit hobby, in the past 5 years I've spent MAYBE and average of $1500 a year? That's just not a lot of money to most people, even the lower class which I am, I only make 45k / yr and can afford this while living in a 3000sq ft house with 2 room mates and have virtually zero debt to my name at 28

Yeah no, Witcher 3 relies more on the GPU than the CPU. CEMU relies almost entirely on the CPU and Bulldozer is ass.

Anon, how many times do I have to tell you? Normal vidya will almost exclusively use the GPU. CEMU doesn't. You're CPU is shit, there's no way around that. You don't need to upgrade because it still functions fine for vidya because you probably don't need 144hz which is fine, neither do I.

emulation is by definition an inferior way to play a game, why are pcfags so proud of it? or why do they act like is a victory over nintendo or people that pay for their games? hell with what face do people here sanctimoniously shit on companies for kike behaviour after pirating video games left and right?

The meme that CEMU is being nefariousness because they're keeping it closed source makes no sense, but it so happens that the same people who held that position also held the position that BoTW wouldn't be playable for years.

It goes like this: First people said it wouldn't be playable -- It then becomes playable -- In response they then created the "closed source means they did something nefarious" meme to explain why they were wrong.

At no point did it occur to them that the small CEMU team may simply be very good engineers.

Everybody already knows CEMU is being built off a stolen devkit. Also whatever the Switch has more games now anyway
>>

They had access to stolen source code. That's why they're so ahead of every other project. Also is why it's unethical to be giving them 20 grand a month.

>>
>>388876598
>Everybody already knows CEMU is being built off a stolen devkit.
No they don't. That was made up out of thin air, and nobody has any reason to believe that.

The Switch is very similar to previous Nintendo consoles, which already had emulators and lots of hardware documentation. It's the simplest and most straightforward explanation for the development speed of CEMU.
>>
>>388876694

An advantage to rendering at higher resolutions that nobody talks about is texture quality. Rendering at higher resolutions causes mip-maps to tolerate farther distances before they switch to lower resolution versions of themselves, so you are literally rendering higher-resolution textures at farther distances.

This effect is amplified when super-sampling at 4K or 8K.
>>
>>388880437
Yeah that's what I was thinking about, like rendering things in the distance, not actually improving the game's looks.
>>
>>388880437
You could just set a negative lod bias and do the same thing
>>

>>388880964
I'd have to look into it, but I think the reason mip-maps are used is to prevent aliasing. If the bias is pushed back too far, textures will become noisy or show moire patterns and stuff. This noise effect would disappear with super-sampling, though.
>>
>>388870871

AMD is accurate in emulators while nvidia is inaccurate. Literally less work on nvidia is the reason it performs so much better in this emulator.

Why don't you just buy the goddamn game at that point
>>
>>388883301
You have a radeon.
The devs did not change the code of this emulator much, maybe they can't (there are some rumors tat this emu is stolen or built on stolen assets).
In the words the devs put it on cemu leddit, amd is accurate when emulating, meaning you can see all the visuals out of the box, but that means you have to work on the emulator to make it posible to run all that stuff.
Nvidia is not accurate, meaning stuff is missing in games(can be effects, reflections or particles, anything really) so it runs better at the cost of visuals. Then there is the case of most people having nvidia so the dfevs are not that hard pressed to make it work on amd yadda yadda.
I wish they used vulcan for crazy performance gains but fomr reading their posts it seems they are borderline incompetent.
