You can still have proper dungeons, items, and an actual soundtrack while having more exploration. If the world was a bit more contained and the Towers were dungeons that had to be beaten/traversed in order to access region maps that would be much better than what the game actually is

Items in 3D Zelda games have been shit for years. Wanting garbage that gets used essentially as an oddly shaped key for one dungeon is stupid. And to go along with that, 3D Zelda dungeons have been ass lately. They're just a series of self-contained rooms that have you find a key and move onto the next one and require no spatial awareness. The only thing they have going for them over BotW's is the varied aesthetics. And don't give me that "no soundtrack" meme
