I'd recommend the BoxBoy games, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, Fantasy Life, Sonic Boom Fire and Ice (It's actually pretty good don't let the name throw you off), and maybe Legend of Zelda Link Between Worlds.

All Ace Attorney and Professor Layton games are good. The former should be played by release order so go with Ace Attorney Trilogy which has the first three games in one.

Awakening is a good entry point and an okay game. Make sure to do Hard/Classic, normal will be too easy and casual wont give you a proper fire emblem experience. It's okay to continue if a unit dies, but most people restart the chapter when that happens. Play how you want as long as you don't pick casual, though.

That literally defeats the entire purpose. When someone dies they're dead. No magic retreats from the battle. No do overs. They're gone. That's the whole point of classic. It forces you to be on your toes, play more strategically, and make sure every move counts. This is meaningless if all you're going to do is reset with your knowledge of how the level plays out until you get it right. The only difference between Casual and Classic with ragequits is the amount of time you waste autistically resetting and replaying the same stage over and over again.
