English FF localizations are usually pretty bad compared to other languages. XV isn't as bad as some old PS1 games, but it's still a bit weird here and there or barely transaltes what the orignal script says. XIV has the same problem, it's like they're trying to make it sound different just for the english loca.

German is probably based off the JP script. A lot of the English script reeks of Koji-Fox and over-localization. I was watching some gameplay of the Ifrit fight a couple days ago and as soon as the encounter begins each character takes turns making fucking fire puns.
