You should stop now and never touch game development again if all you have are character and story concepts/a stolen style and not unique or refined game mechanics and a good idea on how to make a fun and interesting game to PLAY rather than WATCH or LISTEN to. Video games should primarily be driven by the player, and when the STORY is not TAILORED around the GAMEPLAY and instead the GAMEPLAY is TAILORED around the STORY it will make for a bad game.

Nobody on /v/ who unironically prefers STORY to GAMEPLAY and FUN deserves to be shot. visual NOVELS are supposed to be contained on /jp/ but the mods of both boards don't care.

My plan is to tell good stories using all the media has to offer, histories that would not exist outside of games. thats why I putted Yoko taro there, Even with the limitations hes always trying to use that potential.

Video games are not a medium to tell your stories unless they are accompanied by suitable gameplay worthy of being created in the first place. Why do some people look at video games, REAL video games, and think hmm this looks great for telling a story! Video game writers are video game writers because they were to much of a hack to get into television, movies, or their novel/short stories failed to get published, not because they saw gameplay of doom or hitman and said "what if I had 10 hours of cutscenes to these already short games with cute animal girls showing theirs tits at us to break up gameplay!" only retards saw that and the mainstream didn't lap it up. People who like these games are a minority. There are good jrpgs then there is shovelware shit japan won't even touch that relies on western outsourcing and retards to buy like all of those garbage mosuos they pump out.

Go make a shitty vn with your autistic story designs or a crappy rpg maker porn game, it's not worth the effort going to school to make shit nobody wants or cares about sans a minority of ironic anime posters on the internet.

I was a software engineer for a game company my first 3 years out of school and all I did was jam games full of in-game advertising SDKs.

Two years since leaving the industry and my salary has gone up 250%. When I first left, the new place offered me 25k more than I was making at the time, and the game company counter-offered with 10k. Fuckin insulting.

writing software for games always pays less than writing software anywhere else. There were a few other gamedev places in the city but the only one that paid decently (still less than where I ended up going) has a very poor reputation. Their software team is filled with shitheads.

You're going to have a problem finding work. Art/design is really bad for falling into the catch-22 of "need experience to get work, need work to get experience." No idea what salaries are like in that space though.

If you have the opportunity to do a co-op or internship, ABSOLUTELY take it. Also, try to look up the game companies in your area on glassdoor or whatever.

I kinda write the Aesthetic and the concepts of the history first and then and gameplay aspects, and I havent discribed it yet because would be kinda long and I haven't total domain of the english yet, but i Will try here.

>Would be a tactical action Rpg in a island, running alway of the people of the village who want to sacrifice the girl to a demon to keep a barrier on the island, while they search a way to get rid of the dependence of this demon. Would be a Short game, with like 6 hours straight because of the limitations, with a linear path through the island with some hidden ways that would bring more information about the past of the island with environmental story telling. I plan to with the gameplay intensify the bond the player have with the girl and the boy, to create a point of choice in the end made through gameplay, where the boy will be possessed by the demon, and trying to attack the people of the village to protect the girl. If the protagonist doesn't be able to control the character and kill the villagers and save the girl, you will have a ending, if kill the villagers and the girl, another, and if everyone end up alive, another one.
I'm currently projecting the battle system, but is basically a mix of Tales of series, Persona, Dragon age origins and Disgaea, with active battle but with a option to pause and see the battleground, a dinamic weakness system, and a strong interaction and the siblins in the battlefield

I know the way I writen this is horrible, I know, maybe I come back in year or 2, with a better english and with the game in a advanced development stage
