It's the kind of game I really wanted to like but the controls and the menus to rebind your stuff were so shit I gave up and refunded it.
I'm sure it's great just it just didn't click with me right from start and I wasn't in a good mood to play at the time.

Yeah, my mate introduced me to it, I was planning on buying it, but the devs hinted at it coming to Switch so I thought I would hold out and buy it on that.
But yeah, what I've played at my mates its really fun, super nice style as well.
I've been keeping an eye on it a bit, why is it still in early access, it seems like its solid.
Are they adding more weapons or something?
Little disappointed each sword isn't its own weapon sprite and just a streak of light, but if they were going that route they did a pretty good job, still looks nice.

But each weapon has its own sprite and animation during attacks, some are just a couple frames long so you can't really notice them.
I liked Rogue Legacy. Is it anything like that?

I didn't like Rogue Legacy for being too simplistic in both the gameplay itself and the roguelite loop, but Dead Cells is a lot like it mechanically, it just does everything a lot better.

Despite being unfinished I think it's super polished in terms of controls and combat, and weapon variety/synergy is quite good even in its unfinished state.
Unfortunately I really can't bring myself to do more than 1-2 attempts per day, since the way dungeons are generated feels too samey (most rooms are in the same place etc). I feel like they need to improve the exploration and make each new attempt a bit more fresh.
