Kut-ku is such a pathetic fucking excuse of a first boss type monster that it might as well be lowered to -prey tier, just shrink it down so its size fits its fight. I don't even like Qurupeco, but he's miles better than Kut-ku, if anything, make Kut-ku a Yian-prey. Gypceros isn't a bad fight per se, he should be the starting monster rather than Kut-ku, the problem is he's too gimmicky - he steals shit, fakes being dead, spits poison, and has a flash. drop 2 of these things and he becomes a much better monster, or incorporate the play dead mechanic to all monsters. Once you've seen him play dead once, never again is it interesting. Stealing is just annoying.

Yian Garuga is amazing because he's tough as nails and like's to be a massive faggot and chain moves together one after the other. He's a great monster this way in that he teaches you both patience and that bringing items can make a shit fight a million times more tolerable. I hated YG when I first fought him because of the non-stop bullshit spam, and I still don't like him very much, but I can still respect and appreciate the lessons he teaches; don't get too greedy, bring shit if you think it's gonna be a tough fight, and wait for the opportunity to strike rather than tanking damage. Kut-ku is sort-of opposite in this regard, teaches new players that it's possible to tank damage and get a few good hits in, which is the exact opposite of how to play the game.

Also, Sun and Moon get a lot of flack and rightfully deserve a good amount of it but the alolan Pokemon got me really excited more than I've ever felt from a Pokemon game since Emerald. I don't think I can ever say any of them are shit, but sure, some felt more lacking than others though I find hilarious how we keep saying "oh how original".

Guys, come on. The OG 151 were not exactly ground breaking yet I know people loved them just one there are people who love Sun and Moon's Pokemon and everything else in between.

I think what really makes the new mons stand out from the old ones are not necessarily the design but the choir schemes, the new ones have a very noticeable sharp colour to them (hot pink, bright red, bright blue etc) making them stand out, the old ones had more washed out colors, making them look more natural.

Not using Exp Share? You're willfully playing on easy mode with it. I battled every single trainer in Moon, and regularly wandered around in the grass for encounters to catch as many Pokemon as I could, in a game with capture experience, and without Exp Share I wound up getting underleveled by the time you storm the Aether Foundation and stayed that way through to the end of the game. That's the last third or quarter of the game or so. To be fair, it still wasn't exceptionally difficult, but the Elite Four in RBY isn't very tough even with Pokemon 10-15 levels lower than them either.

While playing that way, I did still manage to get a bit overleveled as I approached the middle of the game, which was worrying, but the level curve straightened itself out pretty quick.

Additional mechanics have been added through various generations, and the gameplay formula is one that inherently becomes more complex as you expand the existing elements (number of Pokemon, number of moves, number of types, number of abilities). Are you one of those people who thinks turn-based is inherently archaic and action combat is a straight upgrade in all cases? I vastly prefer action games to RPGs and that's still wrong.
