Here is a little tip, any time you've played a game for a while and don't think you "get" it, just go on youtube or whatever and look for a no commentary gameplay video about the parts you've played. adding stuff like "no damage" or such will make you more likely to get a decent player. Watch them and then ask yourself what are they doing different than I am? Watching someone good at a game play it will give you a better understanding of the game and it mechanics.

I invested myself into the game and played with actual effort, but it just gets boring eventually. I dropped it when I arrived at Hong Kong.

Librerty island is a bad level. This is universally agreed upon, but you yourself are even worse if you can't get past it and actually enjoy the game. Self gratification is not a right, it's a priveledge to be earned.

Not a finer bait has ever been crafted. Liberty Island has some of everything in the game. It introduces you to stealth, combat, hacking, password-finding, buying items from people, optional objectives, grenades, security bots, cameras, turrets and maps. As a bonus, it's really quick and easy to get through on a replay of the game once you know what you're doing.
It's one of the finest tutorial levels there is.
