I don't give a single fuck about western Sony 1st parties. Killzone, God of War, Uncharted, Last of Us, Horizon or Detroit are meaningless to me and have absolutely zero appeal. HOWEVER the console is so good and has so much diversified support that I don't _have_ to care about those 1st parties. I still get to play games like your pic (Persona5), Yakuza series, NioH, Ninokuni2, fighting games, multiplats etc.

Same thing applies to the Switch. I can't give less of a rat's ass about Mario&friends (Yoshi, Kirby, Fox, etc) or Zelda or Metroid, or the vast majority of Nintendo 1st/2nd party IPs. Problem is, Switch doesn't offer me anything else. It doesn't have a god-tier 3rd party library like the NES/SNES and Gameboy line had. If I don't care about the typical Nintendo IPs because I've already played them for decades and want to move on, then I'm fucked. There's barely anything else to play. The only two Switch games that vaguely interest me are Octopath Traveller and SMT:HD, neither of which is a confirmed exclusive. There's also no signs of EtrianOdyssey, and Monster Hunter (the ACTUAL system-seller, the thing that outright made me buy a 3DS) is on PS4/Xbone/PC now.

There's my explanation. I don't care about Nintendo 1st parties but I love some of their 3rd parties, which they chose to ignore for the most part. PS4 gives me all the games I need even though I don't care about their 1st parties either (except for JapanStudio)
