"Waifus" are a cancer upon video games because they encourage hiding bad gameplay behind virtual tits, so that any criticism of legitimate gameplay problems can be discarded by saying "dude what are you gay XD". In addition this leads to tainted discussion, where instead of talking about the gameplay, the potential future of the series, or even modding potential of some games, it just leads to people posting porn left and right and essentially becoming cancerous masturbation fuel. Think Katawa shoujo and its 3000+ generals that have been nothing but erotic roleplay.
Video games need to be about gameplay again, no more waifus, no more sex fanservice, no more pandering to distract from bad gameplay.

The point is that you can't praise a game just because you can masturbate to one of the characters. If YOU want to praise the game, then don't expect other people to agree. It's not like you can't enjoy it personally, but it encourages further degredation of not only the IP in question, but games in general, when you'll willingly accept a bad game because it gives you porn.
