Though a downside of the game, I think, ultimately, having large hitboxes was a good decision for the Paladins devs to make.

When you have characters varying from tall and jacked(Fernando, Buck, Grover) to tiny, jumpy and skinny(Pip, Maeve), having pixel perfect hitboxes would suck with how character sizes can affect how powerful they can be. Hell, in Overwatch, the only reason Winston counters Genji is because Winston requires 0 aim and Genji jumps around like a fly on coke. If Paladins had CSGO hitboxes, Maeve, Pip, and 90% of the female cast would be so much more powerful just because they're so much harder to hit.

Everything I've seen with this Skye character has only pointed to her being a generic slut. Where's the personality in that? I'm not picky; I could forgive that if she at least had an interesting design, but no she's just an elf wearing a featureless purple suit. It's a raw design and it's just fucking boring.

But While OW focuses more on the characters themselves, and thus designs them more fleshed out and unique, Paladins characters aid in the worldbuilding by not wearing a superhero costume, but wearing a uniform. There's not ONE Skye, there's an entire clan of purple-clad assassins. There's not ONE Lex, there's an entire group of Lawmen patrolling the land. When there are unique characters in Paladins, you see it; there's no group of Knights exactly like Fernando, and his character has unique, fancy robot armor that doesn't look like any knight. But otherwise, the characters aren't based around being unique.

What was stopping them from slapping some sort of unique brand or emblem on her that represented that group? It would have implied she's a part of an organization. The armor (and by extension the jetpack) aren't necessarily the problem; all I'm saying is that when I first saw this character I hardly even noticed the jewelry and the little bands he's wearing until I read a bit about him; he was just a lizard wearing green armor and a jetpack.

It's a character that screams to me like they just wanted a rocket launcher dragon, but because they couldn't even make him look cool or unique, they slapped a barebones amount of gold on him and called him greedy. It's so half-hearted.

Here's a different dragon character from a different (superior) game: he's nothing terribly special either and is probably one of the game's weaker designs, but at least they went with something different and distinct while still being distinctly "dragon". The best thing about a unique body like this is that it feels a lot more natural once you learn his characterization; his small stubby body juxtaposes the fact he considers himself royalty and how literal height dictates his people's nobility.

Honestly? I lost all the interest I had in this game the moment I saw "w10 exclusive" so I never heard about them dropping it. They fucked up from the start.

I played a bunch of paladins when my friends wanted to try it, and it just left a sour taste in my mouth. The balance is pretty awful, the maps are forgettable, and development decisions have been consistently atrocious with respect to changing what currency is for what, changing the cards and locking the best ones behind lots of grinding or microtransactions, balancing characters depending on what the ceo likes to play and nerfing anything that annoys him, etc.

It's also true about the work environment sucking isn't it?

And no, I don't really prefer Gigantic or OW, nothing in this genre seems good at all anymore. Kind of wish SMNC wsn't ruined in much the same way.
