Considering how some people are so high on the idea of inclusion and games, why hasn't there been a game where the main character is in a wheelchair? I'm not suggesting a walking simulator, but something with real game play. The fact that your character can't walk would create plenty of opportunities for organic puzzles and other innovative kinds of gameplay. I really don't see why it hasn't already been done.
>Why hasn't there been a game where the main character is in a wheelchair
There has been, not the main-main character, but one of the main playable characters. Down side is that he's also a turtle.I don't know how you feel about furrys

I'm pretty sure I once played a horror game where the MC was in a wheelchair but for the life of me I can't remember what it was called. Also I guess Bentley after a certain point but I don't remember how often you played as him and he wasn't the MC.
>I'm not suggesting a walking simulator
Way to go, Captain Obvious.
>walking simulator
>in a wheel chair

Oh I didn't even think of that. Well, I guess it would be a wheeling simulator. I don't want that, I want something with K I don't want that, I want something with guns violence. Hell, most first person shooters basically handle like you're in an elevated wheelchair as it is.

>The fact that your character can't walk would create plenty of opportunities for organic puzzles and other innovative kinds of gameplay
Except it wouldn't. It would instead restrict everything. Your character wouldn't be able to do shit unless there were low sloping ramps everywhere and flat surfaces.

Technically The Surge does this but its only for the opening scene

Escape from the Nursing Home
>5 Playable characters each with their own separate disabilities
>Collect items but you can only hide a certain amount beneath your blanket
>Sneak by security or organize a revolt, choice is up to you
>Will to Live is like health, is regenerated by calling your grandchildren but they don't always pick up so you have to time it right
>Wheel to freedom

Honestly, the gameplay style of the classic Resident Evils, with tank controls and stopping to shoot, could easily be done with a wheelchair-bound character. Just remove ladders.

Well, that's kind of the point, creating a situation where the Player can get from point A to point B but they have to think in a different way, i.e. solve a fucking puzzle, but one that will feel more believable than "The ancient ones thought the best way to guards their priceless treasure was an environmental puzzle you could solve in about 10 minutes with a bit of thought, instead of a lock and key"
>think of an iconic vidya scene
>mc is now in a wheelchair
How fucked is it?

This is the correct answer

Perhaps the game could start with you dragging your lower body around, until you find a wheelchair which makes it a easier for it walk.
>>388656219
well, snake could've probably just powered thru, dragging his limping lowerbody or in a wheelchair.
>Ramza vs Wiegraf
>A fucking slope

There has.
Already in 90s
I think new wolfenstein has an opening level where you ride a wheelchair and mow down enemies
