I think I'm spoiled by tools like Mod Organizer so Morrowind modding is a complete pain. Anyone else feel this way?

Vanilla is fine, if you have tribunal installed the dark brotherhood will get annoying fast though.

I use the Morrowind Overhaul just for the draw distance and better graphics options. Set it up to keep it more vanilla friendly.

Solstheim rumors hijack the latest rumors, and asking about latest rumors presents quest hints and in some cases can be the only way to activate a quest.
Only after installing the mod did I learn that if you ask about Solstheim after hearing it, NPCs will shut the fuck up about it. But I'd still prefer to just not hear about Solstheim until I want to.

Morrowind Code Patch if nothing else.

Are there many who have played Morrowind in recent years for the first time and enjoyed it despite being used to modern games? I kinda feel that the only thing Morrowind has going for it is that the setting has this somewhat unique exotic feel, definitely compared to Oblivion and Skyrim at least.

Morrowind Overhaul is all you need. Like a shiny new coat of paint.

This is one of the reasons I use OpenMW, it has a rudimentary mod loading system similar to Mod Organizer. You have to add your mod into the text file every time you install a new one but it's not that big of a deal.

That's literally all that's changed, everything else is 100% converted over from Morrowind. The only other differences
>No shit drawing distance
>No shit character models
>No shit character animations
>Actually decent texture usage so everything doesn't seem washed out in muddy dark colors
>Character customization, not just stat customization
>Far better mod support, and you can convert old Morrowind mods to work with Morroblivion too

I doubt Morroblivion's distant land looks as good as MGE XE with Mountainous Red Mountain, and having to convert mods is a pain in the ass

It is. You can see Dwarven ruins and other landmarks half way across the map, and the graphics sure look a hell of a lot more detailed and modern then that. And I'm not even using any ENB's or graphic extender mods.
