Resident Evil is literally nothing without Mikami. All of the best games in the series were created by him, I don't trust a single person at Capcom to make REmake 2 the same level of quality as REmake

Well it seems like a power play for Mikami to not be the director of TEW2. He left Capcom because they didn't make the kind of games he would want to make, so he left to explore other avenues and eventually came around to TEW.

Now that Capcom is litteraly ripping off his greatest hits theres no better time for him to come back, especially with less obligations. Not to mention Bethesda bullied him real hard on the first TEW to make an RE4 clone.

It felt like a poor man's RE4, and there was nothing slightly interesting about it. The atmosphere wasn't great, nothing slightly scary, the story, up to what i played, was nothing. I didn't get past a few hours, there was zero hook.

Please no, I lost any interest i had in this series in one fell swoop when Mikami turned it into a pew pew shooter with RE4. RE7 was the first good RE game since 2002, so they should build on that.

Me too. The atmosphere was great, monster design was good, music, graphics, even the gameplay was fun. I was legit freaked out more than a few times in my playthrough

Really can't get where you've got the atmosphere. It was pretty bland and total luck of good music just ruined it for me.
Dunno where all you fans of tew coming from, but seriously didn't considered it anything but a mediocre horror at best up until now. Which is disappointing, I fucking love psychological themes in horrors.

I'd rather Mikami make action games like God Hand and Vanquish again. He's a hack when it comes to horror now. The difference in direction between The Evil Within's main story and the DLC story is palpable. The sequel is in better hands.

I would welcome RE 4-5 formula again.

7 was ok but not great, 0 replayability.

I finished chapter 10 of TEW last night and I'm not impressed with the at all so far. It's not shit, but you're really not missing anything by not playing it. It's just noticably worse than RE4 in every way. I especially hate that you're in some shifting shared consciousness or whatever instead of an actual three dimensional environment to get immersed it. Chapter 10 boss sucks too.
