If I'm into cyberpunk games, should I get this on the next sale?

Also, recommend good cyberpunk stuff, I guess.
>>
>>388614963
Can't recommend it. Mediocre in pretty much every aspect.
>>
Get deus ex and that's pretty much it
>>
I honestly forgot this existed. ironic
>>
>>388614963
Its an ok game.
Dont expect a dues ex or something.

Its a linear brawler that has custom combos like God Hand.
>>
>>388614963

It's an OK game, the combat is ok with a kind of interesting custom.combo system and the plot is decent enough for it.to be enjoyable for one playthrough. It's probably worth it if you jave momey to spend and want a game that can kill 6-10 hours.
The environments are pretty too, but ultimately tje game doesn't leave a hugely lasting impression
>>
Ironically you wont remember it
>>
>>388614963
Of course you should, the world and lore in this game is really amazing, one of the best you will see out there, no doubt. Gameplay is good as well, although it's a linear stage game, there's enough variety in combat, enemies, puzzles and platforming to keep it very entertaining. Honestly, Remember Me is probably the most underrated game of all time, so much potential in a sequel.
>>
>>388615183
this.
Visually it is impressive, brawler with some climbing segments, some visually nice action pieces and really good and unique memory rewind puzzle segments.
Takes about 7-9 hours to complete.
>>
Mind-numbingly boring in every single aspect.
>>
>>388614963
Tried it two times, never made it further than 2 hours in.
It´s just not very interesting. the world looks nice and the beginning makes it look interesting but then you realize that the fighting system isn´t that great and levels are really only narrow paths

>levels are really only narrow paths

I don't understand this critics, Linear path is a thing for any adventure/beat'em up game.
>>
Would be good if the combat wasn't so shit
>>
>>388616980
Don't worry about it, idiots like him are the reason every fucking AAA game now has to be open world sandbox filled with pointless collectibles
>>
>>388616980
The world just felt "artificial" to me, like it wasn´t a real world but more like a movie set. Sorry can´t explain it better, but that´s only my opinion anyway.
If you liked the game more power to you
>>
>>388617897
What do you think about games like Uncharted that focus a lot on setpieces and shit? Do they also not feel like a real world to you?
I can understand not liking the game if you wanted a cyberpunk exploration of the world and instead have to ho pacross ledges and stuff
>>
pick it up for a fiver, don't get it for anything more than that, game looks great, plays very mundanely though
>>
>>388614963
forgettable
>>
>>388616980
>>388617209
Because you can have a semi-linear game with exploration that isn't open world, fuck off.
>>
>>388618164
It does have short alternate paths, almost like a kind of beat 'em up game
Or whatever you kids call it these days (character action game?)
>>
>fucking life is tumblr gets a prequel/sequel
>remember me doesn't

Good Cyberpunk games don't truly exist.
But I'll list various Cyberpunk media anyway.

>Deus Ex
>Observer_
>Shadowrun
>EYE
>Policenauts
>MGS
>Syndicate
>System Shock
>ff7
>SMT
>Mirrors Edge
>Neo-Tokyo
>Perfect Dark
>Transistor
>vallhalla
Not all of the games main points are cyberpunk but definitely explore the themes, setting, and take place in that kind of world.

But definitely play Deus Ex, EYE, shadowrun, and System Shock.
There are lots of other great sources of cyberpunk media like books, movies, and comics/manga.

Read the Neuromancer for starters, it's very good.
>>
>>388618278
What about Underrail
>>
>>388614963
I didn't remember this game.
>>
>>388618278
>Mirrors Edge
Not cyberpunk otherwise good list.

>>388618475
Not Cyberpunk
>>
>>388618475
I haven't personally played UnderRail yet. It's on my backlog of games right now.

But I know its a fantastic game with great player choices so I'm sure you could roleplay your way in.
>>
>>388617998
Didn´t get thesame feeling in Uncharted, well maybe in 1 to some extend (only played 1-3).
I get that it´s no objective criticism, but it´s still the reason I personally didn´t enjoy the game
>>
>>388615067
Except the art. Cities looks awesome. A shame the gameplay and story are thrash.
>>
>>388618278
Observer is the closest game to cyberpunk that got released these years.
>>
>>388614963

No, It's basically a shitty PoP ripoff with a scifi spin and bad combat. The platforming is basically non existant because the game tells you where to go 95% of the time and falling to your death is almost impossible, making your own fighting combos sucks because you just switch animations around and that's literally it. The story is so shit that I can't even remember what happened.
>>
>>388619790
Yeah it really is. Has the feel for it down perfectly. I hate the stupid puzzles and its not very fun to play a walking simulator. But it does the theme very well.
>>
>>388619790

The cyberpunk bits were really exciting and look beautiful.

To bad you spend most of the time in the shitty dream sequences
>>
It's not worth it. You're better off waiting for the next capcom bundle since that usually shows up in the "pay what you want" tiers. The game tries to sell the idea that customizing combos is the key to being a pro to you and how it's vital to playing the game, which to a degree it is. What it boils down to though is just making a universal combo to satisfy every situation you'd need. On top of that, stringing together moves in game will give you slightly more experience (or some shit like that) but the thing I don't understand is changing who you're attacking (or even having an enemy get in the way of a combo) sets the counter back to 1. Combat in general just feels very stiff in comparison with other brawler type games. On top of that, it has that guy during the helicopter chase part that's spouting the goofiest, least imposing shit I've ever heard in a game.
>>
>>388614963
It's perfect if you've ever played God Hand and thought it was too good.
>>
>>388614963

If you value things like:

>Music
>Interesting settings
>Art style
>Sexy protagonists
>Good French VAs

Then yes. If those things don't interest you, then skip it because that's about all it has to offer. It has some really cool memory rewind sequences, but they are too few and far between to have really mattered.
>>
>>388614963
Gameplay boils down to, "Okay, I need to do damage, let's make the basic combo to extra damage. Uh oh, I need health, Better make the basic combo heal me. Okay, now I have health, time to go back to damage."
You could also assign different functions to different combos, but then you're doing one combo to do this and one combo to do that and you're not paying as much attention to the combat and it ceases to be enjoyable.
>>
>>388621085
She isn't even that attractive, good thing you look at her from behind most of the time
>>
>>388621124
>"Okay, I need to do damage, let's make the basic combo to extra damage. Uh oh, I need health, Better make the basic combo heal me. Okay, now I have health, time to go back to damage."
Why not just make a combo that does both if you're too lazy to keep track of a grand total of 2 fucking combos with different functions?
>>
>>388621254
Cause then you're not getting the most you can out of either combo.
>>
>>388621440
So you switched the basic combo around every time you needed health but you couldn't make two combos? That sounds like a problem wih you, not the game
>>
>>388621491
Actually, I mad several with multiple functions and ended up getting bored. It was at that moment I realized it's just easier to make your basic combo do this or that depending on the situation because the combat is shit anyway.
>>
Played this on the ps3 and got stopped by that big robot in the exploding field and had to delete it LOL

I HATE games that have parts so hard that it shuts the game down , when the game has a story. I looked on youtube and they could get by it but I just couldn't beat that robot so I deleted the game and never looked back , it was a ps plus game.
>>
It's okay but nothing remarkable. Got a bit world building but not much. Looks great though and the French VA was on point.
>>
Just finished Shadowrun Hong Kong and it was very enjoyable. Probably gonna try Dragonfall next.
>>
I love how no one ever mentions the memory remixing because it was barely used in the game anyway
>>
Is those hacking games cyberpunk or modern day? Tried one but apparently you need to be one yourself to understand half of it.
>>
>>388622130
Both good for different reasons. Dead man's switch is pretty weak though.
>>
>>388622141
And it make you feel like an asshole.
>>
>>388622141

it was used like 5 times all at important parts of the story
>>
I did actually enjoy Remember Me. Just a warning though don't be expect this game to be good for anything other than story though. If it goes down to $10 pick it up, but otherwise you're fine without it.
>>
>>388622130
Dragonfall is great
If you can't decide what class to play, a decker fits best for story reasons and because you can unlock everything
>>
>>388622141
It was a neat premise that they threw away to linear plot progression. Fucking up should've had consequences. I've never played Life is Strange but I hear the running gimmick in that is similar to memory remixing.
>>
>>388622324
If you look at it as a plotpoint then sure I guess that's a fair amount of uses. As a gameplay mechanic it's underused though
>>388622457
Would've been cool to open up different paths if you fuck up, but then they'd have to make sure to be as specific as possible because the way it works now you just have to try out what everything actually does, exactly, before you get to the solution

Could've always given you tries/a warning about "living with the consequences" if you're adamant about doing stuff the wrong way.
>>
>>388622390
I got Is0bel to take care of decking in Hong Kong so I could focus on slashing and whipping everything in my path. You don't get a decker companion in Dragonfall? I wanna try a mage build next.
>>
>>388622963
I'm sorry I didn't mean to say you shouldn't do whatever class you want, just that there's a story reason for choosing decker if you're an indecisive bastard like me
Feel free to go with a mage, didn't mean to make it sound as if that's an inferior choice
>>
>>388622963
There's a Decker. But I found two deckers good. But it's been so long I don't remember why.
>>
I haven't played Hong Kong yet, does it have the exact same gameplay mechanics as Dragonfall?
>>
>>388623141
Nah man I didn't get that from your reply at all. Even in Hong Kong, I could totally see why having a decker as your MC would be useful.
>>388623186
But TWO deckers...?
>>
>>388623319
Decking is tad different, instead of matrix space combat you get real-time stealth like gameplay.
>>
>>388623575
I mean, the companion you get a bit later, and being one. But like I said, I don't recall why. But it made some parts less frustrating. Keep in mind the web (or what it was) isn't as fleshed out like in HK and thus at times harder due weird balancing. But obviously, the npc decker isn't someone you have to bring on all missions. He can even die before he joins you I think.

Being one also frees up room for other characters who might be more likeable (I think most hated the decker since he's a dumbass and arrogant)
>>
>>388623915
Fair enough, I didn't find Is0bel to be a lovable character either. Man the game is actually pretty good for how little attention it gets here.
>>
>>388618278
Add Flashback, based list-anon. It really nails the overly-systematised grind and government commercialism of a cyberpunk world in the mid-game.
>>
>>388626287
The two Shadowruns are well-loved here. It's just that isometric cRPGs don't get a lot of threads
Shadowrun Returns is kinda bad though from what I hear
>>
If you want to play a mediocre French cyberpunk game play nomad soul omikron instead
>>
>>388621147
Matter of opinion, but I think she's beautiful. Especially with the voice to top it off. Reminds me of an archetype you see a lot in London, and they're almost always amazing people. The dyed streaks of hair really don't suit her character though, and look far too gaudy. If every other NPC had highlights too then it could just be another accepted part of the world, but they're all aggressively plain, making Nilin look like an out-there fashionista.
>>
>>388627369
>Reminds me of an archetype you see a lot in London, and they're almost always amazing people
That is without a doubt the gayest thing I've read all year
It's a fucking video game character who cares about your ex looking like her
>>
>>388627447
Sorry, forgot where I was.

Bad game. World is gay and French. Too much story. Combat nothing like Dark Souls. Girl has nice butt though.
>>
>>388627967
There's a vast sea of possible post styles you could use, no need to cry about your hurt feelings and jump to extremes you faggot
We were talking about whether this collection of polygons looks good and you started rambling on about girls like her being amazing people
>>
>>388614963
small tight ass's dont get the respect they deserve.
>>
>>388628415
don't worry about it, the BBW fetishist muh thick meme will die like all the others
>>
>>388628140
Sorry if you thought I was blog-posting, anon. I hope nobody's feelings are hurt here.

Peoples' ideas of what's attractive are almost always based on something, I was just trying to justify my view to open up more possibilities for discussion. Look at how many posts there are in this thread and ones like it saying "Nice ass, bad combat" and leading to zero discussion. Sorry if my response seemed like an attack, and a pre-emptive sorry if my trying to explain myself and apologise is just adding to my gay.
>>
>>388614963

Satellite Reign was okay I guess.
>>
>>388614963
i love the artstyle of this game, a truely must buy especially on sale. The game puts you in various parts of the city; a flooded alleyway illuminates brightly lit animated LED billboards alongside baroque architecture, Bowellism styled megastructure and its underbelly that reminds me of Akira's vast underground industrial complex.

Sadly thats the only good thing about this game
>>
>>388617998
they're trash that can barely be called games.
>>
>>388629149

>Sadly thats the only good thing about this game

You mean besides the stellar soundtrack?
>>
>>388629149
Don't forget the music. Olivier Deriviere needs to get on some larger projects.

This thread made me pick up the game again Can you change targets mid-combo? Because even with the most basic enemies it's almost impossible to get a 5-hit combo going without being interrupted
