Gunplay is fun.
Solo and duo/squad modes differ slightly, since in solo you have less room for an error (can't be revived by a teammate) and many prefer to camp.
Also weapon spawns can be a bit unpredictable with a better chance of finding better weapons if you are willing to risk for a lots of early game encounters.

I got 70 hours of it during May-July. It's alright but when you start winning chicken dinners (getting first place out of ~100 people) the allure shines off.

Also you get desensitized to the action eventually. Having steel nerves obviously improves your gameplay but it turns firefights boring.

Every match plays out different. You might get a good drop and just camp a closet in the middle, never move, and win the game. You might get a bad drop and spend the entire game chasing the blue line. You could choose the exciting path and drop into military base and have an instant shootout. You can get a good scope and play sniper and really piss people off.

Course you don't have to play to win all the time, it's more fun to be the predator.

One game I held off 3 people on the rooftop with a sickle only to get sniped.
