It's sven co op, you can find it on steam and yes it is free. It's a co op mission mod for Half life 1, but it has original textures and mechanics.

I don't know what happened to the previous host, but now we need a server.

according to OP the server lags horribly when people try to enter the server without downloading the maps beforehand so that's probably why the server borked

if you want to be extra safe there's a folder called maps in svencoop_addons you can drop the maps into
