They were made for peanuts. 3. Kitase didn't take of the XIII project from someone else after years of promises and trailers were put out to try and salvage it and release SE Japan's first numbered SP FF game in 7 years. So, no, I'm 100% sure the 13 trilogy was nothing as difficult as bringing FF15 to store shelves. Both were dwarfed by FF14's reboot.
