If I remember correctly, Destiny 1 at launch only had about 20 or so PvE activities and missions combined. In D2 there will be around 80 PvE activities and missions.

The only people who thought it got any better after launch were people who have their lips up to the sack of marketing campaigns. They rearranged some numbers and gave you a new 6-person halo level and said "the game feels full finally" and you bought in. Despite them going on to use the exact same slogan for each DLC. Destiny's problems were never related to the core gameplay, the issue was content was very lacking and what was there wasn't very good outside of the Raids. This one beta story mission is much better than anything in D1 though, so maybe they finally got their shit together.

You must have a bad memory. Launch was memeworthy, it got a really bad first DLC that added 3 story missions, it got a pretty lame second DLC that added like five story missions, and it only got good when TTK came out.

But even that got pretty stale. I didn't make it until RoI, I had already tapped out because the game had become a chore, but I don't hear too many amazing things about it. The game was good for like 40% or 30% of its life. And not even for that much time you were playing it, you could probably count the missions outside of raids that were good on two hands.

R9 390, i5-6500 60 FPS without any drops. I'm going to tinker with the settings later to see how far I can push it since I was mostly on medium across the board. Game looks good regardless.

Gunplay feels great (recoil is implemented in that when you shoot and your gun recoils, it doesn't automatically adjust to its original position. So, if I'm spamming a revolver at an enemy, I'm constantly moving my mouse downwards to adjust the crosshair instead of firing and waiting for the gun to adjust back into place).

The crucible is underwhelming. This is in the same vein as Uncharted 4's multiplayer. It's there, it' competent enough, but it's not very good. The use of special weapons and abilities also feel gross. Granted, my go-to shooter is CSGO, so I prefer more vanilla mechanics which allow for high skill ceilings.

Strikes seem like they're going to be pretty neat. The one available in the beta consists of platforming with a few twists and enemies who don't really pose a threat. The boss encounter however is pretty tough. Basically you're fighting him on layers that disappear as you chip away at his health. First, you're on a cramped platform while it teleports around you firing projectiles and mobs swarm in on all angles. Then you fall to the next platform where he smashes the ground which heats it up so you need to jump onto something or time your hover to avoid it. Finally, you drop one last time to the where the boss is more active in circling you and encroaching your cover head-on while you're once again swarmed by enemies.

It definitely feels like a half iteration rather than a sequel. The story is nothing to write home about either, but it seems competent enough to keep you engaged. I'm cautiously optimistic about it. Too bad the game releases in two months.

i7 6700K and 1080Ti, can play 4K on almost highest settings without missing a beat at 60fps.
Gameplay is fun so far, about as smooth as I'd expect from a Bungie game.

Hope there's enough content and future support to this game and it'll be a great one.

Destiny 1 was fun for a bit.

Burned me after it locked me out of shit I already paid for because I didn't want to buy TTK.

I don't know maybe it was my fault for not actively researching what the game life would entail and just wanting to play a cool game with good gun play and great pals.

Already tried the PS4 demo and the fact that snipers were power weapons was retarded, maybe they'll change it, maybe they won't. Don't plan to find out, but hope you boys have fun regardless.
