Put 150 hours the month it came out and beat the final boss. It was grindy as fuck but I loved it. Amazing aesthetic, attitude and soundtrack.
Then there was no actual content for like six months.

Sounds like a pretty absurd grind to make people wait to pay for shit instead of progressing normally. I mean you can waste all the time you want on this game anon, I made it to the 40th floor before I realized how stupid the grind for shit was, you'll get bored eventually, to each their own, but the grind is pointlessly hefty for what you get, not to mention the fact that the grind stunts progress, the game becomes about the gear grind, and the small amount of skill it takes to play the game in the first place gets taken over by simply making sure you have upgraded gear.

I was a rigorous advocate of this game up until I got to about floor 25ish.

Then it becomes blatant pay2notgrind, and the grind is fucking horrific. Maybe if they'd kept the game more dynamic and had side events to keep people playing the grind wouldn't suck, but all the updates were fixing bugs, removing fun glitches that killed the grind and adding more content nobody would ever see to the backend.

He's not so hard as he is just a damage sponge. I brought a nail gun to deal with its skellies, and just keep waiting for it to charge, before punishing with a few attacks. It takes FOREVER though. The game really drops out for me around the mid 20's.

Gave up on whatever floor had that monstrosity, I believe JIN-DIE. I like the atmosphere and style, but the amount of grinding I heard you needed going up and changing map really whiskered my catfish. Maybe I'm just shit but I always got fucking pounded by Haters, especially if I'm trying to run back through a floor, and my gear did next to no damage to JIN-DIE. To me, the controls were pretty loose.

That premium elevator lady was pretty sexy, though. If the game has some other gimmick I found fun (like Warframe's mobility and crowd clearing or HUEG numbers) I think I would be able to stick with it.

let it die is like the souls games in that the combat is fun and you spend the first 20 or so floors trying to upgrade and master the combat and learn the secondary things you can do.

then you realize that once you've beaten the game, it's not over, and all you've ever done is grinded out for materials for upgrades and then cheesed unfun boss fights. death metals are just a convenience, a way for you to escape actual gameplay, but if you're wanting to escape gameplay, why play the game?

I have 500 hours in the game
I have over 1500 upgrades which if you've been playing the game you'd know is a lot.

So far I have had the unfortunate opportunity of watching it all burn to the fucking ground from the beginning.

Launch was great, the game was fun and engaging, and didn't hold your hand at all.

Beat the game a month in and had lots of fun getting up there loving the idea of climbing the fucking tower

around 100 hours in the grind was the only fucking thing that mattered, but I wasn't disturbed by anything else so I got through it.

At this point most people quit or give up but I had some fucking false hope the game would get more content in time.

Several months pass they introduce dumbass White steel forcemen.

All of the p2w faggots go for the meta way to beat him and max his armor out.

TDM was fucking useless back then as it is now but when whitesteel came out if someone had their entire base full of white steel defenders you just fucking couldn't kill them or shred their armor durablity since it has 13 times more durability than any other gear in the game.

It only got worse from there, more grindy bullshit more gear tiers inviting more grind without the addition of ACTUAL fucking COTENT.

Next thing you know they throw shit in our mouths with the dumbass gravity daze 2 collab which is a fucking blatant transparent cash grab from their greasy fucking palms anyone could see.

The game at this point only has braindead fucktard drones as a fanbase at this point, no people who actually play the game seriosly and appreciate it, only disgusting fucking shills.

There is no fucking rational way you can look at me in the face and tell me you still enjoy the game if you've finished it and experienced the complete lack of ambition to make the game better.

From those tiers. There's now purple metal which you get by reaching a dead end floor in 41-50 (higher chance of purple instead of red by going to a higher floor, 50 guarantees a purple). Those floors also drop 5 star materials like candy and have new 6 star materials.

There's also 44CE metals used exclusively right now for boss gear. White Steel is pretty easy to farm (extra easy if you have a 4 different raging bull decals and tier 4 one handed sword), but Red Steel is ROUGH. Also costs 100k killcoins a go even if you lose, but no revive cost.

As someone that still plays from time to time, I agree with a bunch of this, but White Steel wasn't pay to win since the most effective way to beat him (dragon buster + 3 raging bull decals) was pretty easy for most players to do.

TDM needs massive changes because right now it's virtually useless unless you spend hours grinding to remove all the real players and go back to dev haters.

Gravity Rush decals I 100% agree with, it's pay to win garbage and you have people spending hundreds without getting 1 of each decal. It's shit and I'm done if this is the future of the game.

I'm hoping that maybe they become less jew with TDM 1.5 and 2.0 with death metals now that we essentially need them to roll for high level top tier decals, but I'm not holding my breath.

It's also impossible to win against most players, especially once you get to 5* characters. I think I've won a whole 4 defenses in 200 or 300 hours and have successfully attacked maybe 30 times.

I pop in, do one or two 41-50 runs for the purple metal, then play something else for a few days. I like the game, but I want some more actual tower floors and new minibosses.

TDM will be more fun if they make the "deploy a miniboss to defend your base" mechanic not just some sort of splithium/death metal dump.
