What is considered "good" commentary though?

These days it's like digging through a big pile of shit until you can find something you like. Just look up any game and "let's play" after it, I guarantee you will find thumbnail after thumbnail of stupid fucks grinning at the camera / gasping at the camera / looking puzzled at the camera with their face covering the majority of the game, and a title like "UH OH SPAGHETIOS?!??! LETS PLAY MARIO" or some shit.

I like commentary with my games and I understand some people won't like my tastes, back in the day I could just put something on like TippingForties or Cybershell in the background and listen in once in a while. I've fallen for the OneyPlays meme but I actually like Oney despite him making dumb noises half the time. Whoever is playing the game usually (saying the loosely here) has some extended knowledge of what they are playing and explain it to the audience.

It just isn't the same anymore man. I can't fucking stand a video that immediately starts with "HEY GUYS" like it's fucking beginner improv night. I can't stand the smug douchebags putting their mug on the corner of the screen for you to watch their face playing a game. I just can't do it anymore man. I just want some quality commentary or some good jokes, not the equivalent of shaking keys in my face.

If I'm streaming, I'll probably say "hiii..~" or something and do a big smile with my FaceRig avatar.

I wanted to install a mod for Minecraft, this particular mod you needed to put in the mod folder and then replace add some files in another folder, the forums page linked a video on youtube for the instructions. The video was 10 minutes long, with the dude writing in Notepad and it included everything useless, from downloading minecraft to creating a new world, downloading anvil or whatever the mod manager was called, installing anvil and then downloading the mod and finally after like 7 minutes, how to install it.
7 minutes.
Fucking Minecraft.
