Bad summoners don't even bother learning the job and constantly flub things like DoTless Festers, using Garuda in a melee group because of personal dps, forget rouse exists, use enkindle outside of rouse, use Ruin I because it's cheap, massively over prioritize ruins over anything else, flub DWT, summons Bahamut 2 seconds before phase change or invuln...

The problem is SMN is not idiot proof and idiots gravitate towards pet classes (huntards in wow). SMN unfortunately attracts the worst players so you're going to see the most bad players on it. The complication of the class can be overcome quickly by someone who has a fully functioning brain.

You can stack elemental resistances, but you'd need to change resistance for specific encounters, at which point it's better to just pump raw damage and healing.

The glamour quest is in Mor Dhona. When you first reach Mor Dhona, the minimap is littered with these icons. At least 20 of these little shits, and most of them are dungeons and the rest are crafting ones. So after looking at a few in the bar, it's safe to assume that these are just optional content that you can do later. So instead of doing hours upon hours of side content, you decide to press on with the story (especially HW, since it's pretty good).

It's also worth mentioning that you still have to go through the entirety of the 2.x quests, which amount in the hundreds, are arguably one of the slowest parts of the game. I don't know a single player who hasn't stopped and fiddled with a bunch of sidequests while slow-burning through all the boring MSQs.
Does the player have an FC who could explain things to him? Has anybody else stopped and explained what he was doing wrong during the multiple 50+ quests he's done in that condition?
The only explanation I can think of is that he just bruteforced the MSQ while ignoring literally all side-content in a fucking MMORPG, never joined an FC that had any interest in helping newbies, doesn't have any in-game friends who are willing to explain the game's mechanics, and ignored every single bit of advice given to him by players in various dungeons.

Tank focused on buffs/debuffs. It uses a big honkin' mace and a shield and has access to the various Break abilities. For the gameplay flow, I'd envision it being centered around juggling combos that apply defense debuffs on the enemy. It might be neat to also give it a stance system similar to Monk that changes the secondary effects of its attacks, but you have to manually shift stances every few seconds instead of it automatically changing on attacks, as well as having the normal Tank/DPS stance the other tanks have.

It'd probably need to have lower DPS output than the other tanks to make up for how god-like defense debuffs are in this game.
