I used to like it but it's too needlessly complex for me to really enjoy nowadays, there's so much extra shit that's not just sidegrades but straight up required to progress, and that's lame. I felt the game was at a good place previously in regards to difficulty.

I remember when it first came out my friend was angry for some reason because the light sabers were too late into the game and he thought be the trailers it would be a game where you had a light saber, I thought it was a pretty cool game.

i remember there being an ingame tutorial for this, but i can't seem to find it anywhere. was it only on the console versions or something?

On PC? Pretty shitty feeling, and not very easy. The games are different builds, and almost entirely different games for good reason. You could probably overcome it with time though, but I couldn't cause I'm retarded.

Terraria is an excellent game. I bumbled through it for about 40 hours before looking at the wiki, only to realize I had literally and figuratively barely scratched the surface of the game.

how should i prepare for expert wall of flesh? i have jungle armor and a water bolt + demon scythe and im going to make a long wood platform across the underworld. anything i should do before i jump to hardmode?

If you're going to play Thorium you should be making a thrower, summoner, bard or healer if you're on a server.
Every mod will have this same problem for you because none of them actively discourage you from using the vanilla they only offer alternatives if you don't want to do the exact same playloop every time.

That said you can get calamity/tremor which add many tiers after nebula but at that point you're just playing the powercreep game.

Find your corruption / and any other rare biomes, and section them off.

Completely dig out a 6-wide tunnel all the way around their perimeter, fill with stone or brick 2-thick on each side

Yes so don't bother. The corruption spread slows to a crawl after you kill your first hard mode boss most people just have bad memories of the 1.2 update where corruption spread took over worlds.

Make a miner's potion, dig a 2x2 chute, make sure it has a puddle at the bottom.

Then drop down through it and spam throw sticky dynamite. At least, protect your main base from it

Unless you can afford dynamite, yes.
There's not much point in isolating it. Random spread when you break altars pretty much makes it pointless. Best to just isolate your base area with the trenches and out the hellavator in the jungle and hope it doesn't get wrecked by the V.
