What part of a video game used to scare you as a kid?
Pic related btw. I hated the save room ost from RE3. It made me uncomfortable as fuck.

Res 2 zombies coming through door

Op here.
Never had the chance to play res 2, is it still good? Does it still hold up till this day?

Of course it is.
ReDeads in OOT
Also maybe it was because before RE4 I was too young to recognize why zombies are scary, but RE4 is the first RE game that scared me. I remember sitting in the save room hyperventilating and trying to steel myself to go confront El Gigante.

I remember my dad buying RE1 Director's Cut and the cover used to scare me as a kid.

Nigga you serious?
RE2 is THE fan favorite for a good reason.
If you can stomach RE3 this day and age, you should have zero problems dealing with 1 and 2. Especially when RE3 is often considered as a mere "RE2.5".
Go play the superb REmake as well.

I thought REmake or 4 was The Fan Favorite.

RE2 is the "old" fan favorite, and the big megahit of the late 90s. It's one of the "safe" picks out of the series, least controversy.
I love REmake to death, but I have seen people prefer OG RE1 over it.
I guess I don't need to say why 4 is not always so fondly remembered, no matter how fun it is.
Lisa Trevor's introduction terrified me as a kid.
>Find a cabin in the middle of the woods
>Hear that cry
>The Cabin seems like a safe room, with supplies, a save point and an item box
>Yet somehow everything seems wrong, the save room music isn't playing, the cabin seems very recently occupied
>Pick up the item on top of the Trap Door
>Hear the door slam.
Pyramid Head just staring at you in Silent Hill 2.
Unagi the Eel in Super Mario 64.
Fuck him.

Majora's Mask was worse as a kid, but that definitely gets big points.
Going back, I didn't realize the eels in Pinnacle Rock were bound to their holes and hated being in that pit at all. The uncertainty in Mario 64's eel makes it way worse as an adult.
