Has anyone done anything similar for the sake of immersion?
>Partner is away from home for a month
>It coincides with me being off work for two weeks
>Freedom!
>Cook lots of foods that you'd normally find in a fantasy game, mostly stews and stuff.
>Brought a fake fireplace and microwave into my office, sat them on top of one another.
>Black out all the windows
>Booted up a heavily modded Skyrim
>Then pretended to live in a fantasy game for two weeks
>When hungry, I heated up my stew in a microwave that sat on top of a fake fire. (My character ate too)
>When I put my character under a waterfall/lake to bathe, I took a cold shower/bath.
>When my character slept, I went to sleep on the floor of my office with nature noises in the background
It was honestly kinda blissful, and made me want an advanced VRMMORPG
you sound like a total bitch, i hope your "partner" is fucking someone else

Maybe I am, anon. I've never been called a bitch before or thought of myself as one, so who knows?
no wonder your partner is away for a month

Women ruin any community they infect.
Hang yourself, whale.
>>388473916
Man, you guys are boring.
This is 4chan summerfag shit, hit me hard or shut the fuck up.

This is a bit better, if I wasn't a dude... ya faggot.
You properly assumed because I said partner but I like the term partner.
Are we robbing a bank?
Are we dating?
Do we have stakes in a law-firm together?
Who the fuck knows?
I mean, it sounds pretty comfy, but I can't imagine a woman not laughing at that
>>388474532
Yeah, like I am ever going to tell anyone about this ever.
Not my friends, work mates or my girlfriend. Nobody.
Still, I'll happily anonymously comment about it on /v/ though.
Was hoping someone does something similar, I do a low-grade versions after playing scifi games.
Like listening to space engine sounds when going to bed, or only eating huel while playing them.

Closest thing I do is write fan fiction about levels I design in a Quake-like
>>388471881
>>When I put my character under a waterfall/lake to bathe, I took a cold shower/bath.
I forsee this going poorly wearing electronic devices.

How is Skyrim in VR? I kind of like the idea but the more I think about it the more I think I'd get VR sickness immediately. Can the game even run above 60fps and still function? How does that work in VR?
>>388475563
I don't even know how that would sound, link me up anon.
This is the thanks I get for sharing my story?
No wonder no one likes this place.

don't think it's out yet
>buy a vive
>rift goes on sale for half the price
>all the exclusive games are on rift
wtf bros
>>388475685
I have Fallout 4 VR
You get motion sickness after maybe 15-20 minutes of walking, teleporting takes away the sickness but destroys the immersion and escapism.
I'm just waiting for a solution, a wonder-drug, anything.

>I have Fallout 4 VR
but that isn't out yet
inb4 shitty mods
>>388475771
NO.
>>388475861
He said modded so I'm assuming he's running it on PC.
>>388475965
That's my concern. I was eventually fine with RE7 even after turning off all the settings that are there to help against sickness but I have my doubts about Bethesda's competence in this regard, considering how poorly the base game runs.
>>388476128
>Probably plays modded games
>Suddenly too good for modded games
>>388476489
>complaining about immersion in a quick VR mod
that's why they are releasing it as a separate game instead of a DLC or patch
>>388476379
The way I see it, if they see VR as just a gimmick, a quick buck, it will probably be poorly optimized as fuck BUT if they want to expand on their VR games and invest in the technologies future, they'll probably make an extra effort.
I don't know what Bethesda is thinking but the way things are going now, it seems like VR is just a gimmick... which brakes my fucking heart because my entire life, good VR is all I've ever wanted.

>Skyrim
>Skyrim Remasterd
>Skyrim Switch
>Skyrim VR
Yeah because you're not just buying the same shit with a slightly different colored package.
>>388476919
Yea, I mean they are just porting existing games. It's not like any of these were designed with VR in mind. There's also a matter of price. VR games are already overpriced as it is but I have absolutely no faith in Bethesda to shell out 60 bucks for a game I already played and only really liked for the mods which I won't have access to. Maybe if it goes on sale I'll give it a shot. But honestly I feel like I shouldn't give them money out of principle.

I bought a plush love doll with an opening for an onahole
