Yeah I suck too. The only way I can manage good k/d ratio in shooters is to study maps/tactics etc. Online. But some of my friends can pick up the controller, run around like morons and do as good as me

Paper Mario 64 and TTYD are harder games than people give credit. At least if you play like a normal person, meaning you just rush and don't overlevel yourself and don't prepare for an hour for every stage.

Watch any let's play of it, people prepare like crazy. They cook and carry 25 HP + FP healing items for every boss and then go "lol so ez".

Not having over 3 k/d is scrub level though.

I do that, even study spawn patterns so I can tell by the radar when they'll spawn where so I know where to go and all that jazz. I just suck. I used to blame it on my internet, but I don't think that's the case

I think you're on to something. I'm replaying Doom 3 on Hard instead of Medium

I was missing out. Now I die an average of 1 to 2 times per level, I regularly backtrack to drain those wall health stations, I keep juggling between shotgun/chaingun/plasma/machine gun as the one I'm using runs out of ammo, and every fight with an Imp or Commando is anxiety ridden because I have to actually avoid and counter their attacks as much as possible instead of just tanking them and blowing them away. I even actually fired the BFG once at the first archville instead of just hoarding it to the end of the game and never using it

It's the most I've enjoyed a game in years
