Are you retarded or were you too young to remember the release of HL2 and the orange box? HL2s effect on the industry is still seen in the way games are designed today, sure cs go and dota are money pits, but being a money pit only seems to create stagnation in the industry with the only change being new hats and micro transactions. HL3 could have built on what HL2 did and pushed what one expects from an FPS further. Im happy to keep on waiting as i have been for the past decade, once newer technology can be better implemented maybe we will see valve use the HL series as a way to experiment with it. Regardless, Episode 3 and HL3 as we know it are dead so im almost certain at this point that any new Half life will either be a reboot or a remake. when i first played half life 2 i was a edgy middle schooler, now im a fucking father. The problem is that he's terrible at his job. He claims to love journalism but all he does pester anyone he thinks that has a connection with questions and then will report literally anything you tell him without doing any additional research and fact checking of his own.

His only good projects are the beta restorations, but he hypes them up to be a lot more than they are. The only other plausible alternative is that it may be a general tech base for supporting the porting of Source engine first-person games to Source 2 VR (in which case it may possibly be released with no new original content other than Black Mesa / Half-Life 2 / Episode 1 / Episode 2 ports). It being a totally novel spinoff game is very unlikely (contrary to the current memes, of course Valve is not deliberately seeking to annoy/insult their most loyal fans).
